Speculation of the game play and opinions

So the main page says "Watch Bubsy glide like a bat, jump like a jack rabbit, bounce like a red rubber ball and run…run Bubsy run. This is the Bubsy adventure you were born to play. "

I see Bubsy do all that in the promo videos, much like in the previous Bubsy games. For the record, I always like the gameplay of the first Bubsy game (Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind) and on the third Bubsy game (Fractured Furry Tales). Always felt like the gameplay in Bubsy 2 (in the Amazatorium) was a bit scattered with the gravity feeling too little or too much depending.

Overall from what I see I am noticing a few things from the videos:

1) It looks like Bubsy is still a one hit wonder. :P (Dies after one hit)
2) Can run, but looks like at a more moderate and controllable pace.
3) Jumps.
4) Glide is more gradual.

And I'm noticing a propelled spin/sideways attack in the newest videos.

And with enough momentum Bubsy can run a looped area, running up a curved wall and around the ceiling (as we see in the scene where Bubsy is in the circular room with a lot of yarn balls to collect). This is a new ability.

So what do you think looking at the videos? Looks good, bad, like the detail or not.

I want to try it because Bubsy. :P

I disagree...I don't believe that the glide will be more gradual. The glide will honor the system put in place from 2d bubsy (i.e. bubsy and bubsy 2 for sega genesis and also super nintendo entertainment system). If you were to pay closer attention to the animations in the trailer, you would notice how true this developer stayed to the 'classic' bubsy style. Thank you for reading.

It just looks like a reskin of Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams rather than a classic 2D Bubsy game. Old Bubsy was fast and twitchy, while this looks floaty and slow by comparison.

Slower glide might get you more into the gameplay where is right now in the 2D games it is like "falling with style" but at a frantic pace.

You'd actually be 100% right with that comparison. Made by the same devs and everything. Me thinks the IP holders found the cheapest possible solution to make this and as quickly as possible. There's actually a video comparing the two games on YouTube. Just search Bubsy Sisters Twisted Dreams and you should find it.

Interesting. Yeh based on the video it really does look like they were cut from the same game/engine. Still want this game though! :D And it looks like they have at least changed the pick up sound effect form the Sisters Twisted to a more Bubsy pick up sound.

I'm optimistic- it looks like they did a good job of creating a game true to the Bubsy 2D gameplay with the glide while solving a lot of the issues by using the Giana Sisters engine and increasing visibility.

Well there's already a demo of it out there if you catch my drift. Just imagine Giana but with cat ears and a white t-shirt. lmfao

I think it's lazy and lacks any purpose outside of cashing in on meme culture/nostalgia, like it compares more to a character-swap rom hack than a sequel. Needless to say I'm waiting for a significant price drop before picking this up. Even the James Turrell fangame has more value from what I'm seeing.

Not that that's too bad of a thing in this case though... Lazy and shameless is the Bubsy way after all.

But I ain't paying anything over $15 for it. Personally I think it's worth $5, but that's just me. ;3
