Sequel? [possible spoilers]
So i finished the game and that True End epilouge pretty much screams at you that there's a sequel but does anybody knows if it's currently in the works? I can't seem to find any news for it.

I really hope there is one, especially with such an epilouge and trailer...

I was actually pretty satisfied with how the main game finished cause although everything wasn't solved it came to a good closure, which I felt the epilogue kind of ended up ruining. I was constantly like ?? what's going on when I first started reading the epilogue as I was just expecting a sweet story about events after the main story. The mc locking herself up in her room, introduction to new characters, throwing out a whole lot of new problems and having to see them all go separate ways just made me sad xD Although that seemed like the most realistic option if they hoped to bring down Spellbound in the future and seeing the mc talking about learning how to use a gun and fight seemed like it would be a really interesting sequel.

But.. I did a bit of research after this and couldn't find any kind of talk about a second game. The original game was released on psp back in 2013, then a remake was made for vita in 2016 and finally the English version released in 2018/19. It's been such a long time since the original psp version was released and I couldn't find anything about a sequel game which makes chances pretty low I guess and makes the epilogue and trailer even more disappointing to me :< If plans for a sequel game wasn't set in stone then I wish they had just left the ending to what it was after the main story instead of throwing that epilogue in.

Anyway sorry for the lengthy reply haha, I was kind of waiting for people to finish up the game so I could have a little ramble :P

I see, that's disapointing if it will not happen, it indeed makes the epilogue for the true end a very fustrating experience in that case, so many stuff was happening, with Jack getting locked up and beaten, that weirdo with the hat and Mr stuck up Mortiary and the promise of a stronger Emily down the drain.

I'm still not 100% sure though so I've gone onto their website and sent them an email about it, hopefully they'll get back to me soon about it.
Was just coming here to ask this! The "ending" was such a tease. I loved this game so much but now I want to know more about the new characters and all these other things they were setting up. I'd buy the sequel in a heartbeat, heck, I'd buy it just to see more of Jack! (poor guy had the worst of the cliffhangers, of course)

It looks like they already had artwork and some other elements made for it; Watson's epilogue sprite seems to be one, as well as the line art for their older selves in the extra preview at the very end.

Hopefully it sells amazingly well and they can finish what it seems like they'd started. I hope your email brings good news!

Yea I felt so sorry for Jack especially in the Grand Ending Epilogue >.< He really needs some more love xD

The new sprite was actually something I think they had to change when making the PS Vita Crown version where they had to change over some VAs and the artist, although I'm not 100% sure, but Watson just looks way older than everyone else and I'm just like :lunar2019laughingpig:

And it's actually already been about half a month since sending in that email and I still haven't heard anything back from them, but if I do hear anything back I'll be sure to post their reply on here.

Okay, now I'm totally believing that they had a sequel in the works before stuff kind of fell apart. When you watch the end where they all put their hands in and promise to meet back in two years , after that ending there is a little epilogue saying "years passed" and a bunch of other stuff goes by, most of it is sketches of the characters. These sketches made me re-watch it at least 3 times because I'm positive it's them in the future. Jack, Watson, Holmes, Lupine, they all look like they've grown and their character styles look different. Oh, I'm so sad there's not a sequel now because older Lupine looks yummy.

Based on the "true end" epilogue, it's clear the developers intended for there to be a sequel to LDM. Especially when you take into account the epilogues (and therefore the sequel trailer) were only added for the PS Vita re-release in 2016 -- three years after the game originally came out. You don't add additional content + a cliffhanger to a story you want to wrap up definitively.

I'm slightly more optimistic in the possibility of a sequel for a few reasons: 1) they ported the game to PC, meaning they think there is still an audience for LDM, 2) their twitter account still regularly promotes LDM (things like character b-days and reminders to check out the game on the PS store) and 3) according to their new years blog, most of their 2019 was dedicated to launching their new mobile game "Otome Ken Musashi" and (rough translation) "it was difficult to develop other [games], but all of the [old games] were still loved and [the fans] delivered support to the characters, so all the staff were happy."

So if we assume they decided to make a sequel to LDM sometime around 2014-2015 and released the new content in 2016, that means it's really only been about 3 years for Karin Entertainment to work on developing a sequel. Add on the fact that they apparently lost 2019 to development of "Otome Ken Musashi," leaves only about 2 years to work on it. Take into account they have other otome/BL projects.....Really, they haven't had much time to develop the LDM sequel, even if they still intend to.

I'm not holding my breath, of course, but I am willing to say that the interest seems to be there, and the hypothetical timeline isn't as damning as it first seems. Guess we'll have to see what happens in the next 1-2 years ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Has there been any news? It's been a number of years since this thread and its questions were posted. I just finished the game this evening, and would love to know if the sequel wasn't canceled

I would also love to know if the second game is in development. This is one of my fav otome games and would love the aged up characters in a sequel and a continuation of the over arching mystery.

I haven't heard much for this game and it's been years, we can only hold a candle for the sequel...and this is even not mentioning if this potential sequel would be localised or not

I just realized they delisted that game, so probably never.
