It happens if you change your username. You need to leave your game on and after awhile it will go back to normal.

The same thing also happened to me when I reinstalled the game after a while, the unstable multiverse problem was solved after leaving the game open in the main menu for 30 min - 1 hour

Same issue here and it seems to also happen only on SteamDeck. Have you managed to find a solution?

leave the game open/play some training mode/single player fights/story. sucks but i think it's the game's red shell drm doing some stuff

yeah that ended up being the solution on my Deck.

Had to wait up to like 45 mins for the Multiverse to fix itself but it is what it is.

Verify files, launch the game, wait 30-45 minutes, you can only play offline stuff (campaign or single fights)

I can play online and enter online mode but multiversus unstable reinstalled the game verified files didn’t help
