I've never played any fighting games and was wondering, how do you remember all the moves you need. Do you study the controls, or do you have them written out. I don't want to button mash but how am I supposed to remember 40 different batkicks. If you have any tips please let me know, that would be very much appreciated :)

Invest in a controller, I've played on keyboard before and it was hell.
You can pin the combos on screen when you fight. Or just remember a few, the rest are just variants of that few. Master some characters and you can play it extremely easily. For me personally I find Robin to suit my playstyle and I enjoy him.

I just go into practice mode, learn all the combos and special moves for a character. Then I start experimenting with the combos and special moves to come up with strings of combos. After that its just playing the character over and over and the combos all become muscle memory. Then I go over on YouTube to look for even better combos if they exist. I also look at combo frame data but since you're new I wouldn't get into that. You can still do well by completely ignoring the frame data. And yes, a controller is really recommended for fighting games. I started playing injustice 1 with a keyboard and then I switched to a controller and it was a night and day difference. Although I do have a ps4 controller, which is the best recommended controller for fighting games since it has an amazing dpad. You could also go for a fighting stick. Cheers.
