How do I unlock the alt main skins?
I am not talking about the premiere skins. Everyone talks me about them, yeah, I know that I can buy them. No problem with that.

But what about the secondary skin? Some people say that I can unlock it in the multiverse, playing any simulator battle but I did it (I win the easiest one) and I got nothing. Well, maybe some loot box.

What should I do? Thank you for your help.

You unlock them by completing multiverses, opening mother boxes, and you will get a skin by completing the arcade mode for a character if you did not already unlock that skin.

Here is a list of skins that you cannot unlock , and must use crystals to purchase.

It doesn't work or I am playing the wrong mode. Can you please guide me to find that "arcade mode" ? Because I have played the ia simulator and I got nothing.

This skins by the way are true skins or just recolors? Because if they are just different colours, I think I got it.

Just different colors. The only true skins in the game are the following:

  • Cyborg: Grid skin (Legendary and I think Ultimate edition. Earned by linking account to app or through story mode)
  • Cheetah: Vixen (purchased with crystals)
  • Flash: Jay Garrick skin (purchased with crystals) and Reverse Flash (Legendary edition, possibly Ultimate)
  • Green Lantern: John Stewart (Legendary)
  • Superman: Bizarro (purchased with crystals)
  • Supergirl: Powergirl (Legendary, possibly Ultimate)

I think that's it unless I'm forgetting something.

Ok, thank you. I just bought the game and I couldn't believe there wasn't skins. In Injustice 1 I could play as a lot of different versions of superman, batman, etc., and I thought there would be at least two skins for each character.

Too much to wish it seems.

I like gameplay but I feel very disappointed with the additional content of the game. No skin, stupid loot boxes, and the roster... I mean... Blue beetle but no constantine or Zatanna... Cheetah but no Ares... Starfire but no Raven... Firestorm but no Shazam... and for some reason not one but two characters of a different game (Raiden and Subzero).

If I want to play Mortak Kombat, I BUY Mortal Kombat.

And then 10 dlc characters... I mean, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 10.

Ok, I'll stop whining. Thank you for the help ;)

Well, you can actually make a lot of the costumes by unlocking gear. You can play as Arrow Green Arrow and Red Son Superman if you unlock the gear. I have a loadout that looks like Red Son.

Oh, I forgot. There's a skin to make Raiden into Black Lightning, if that helps.

Yeah. Through lootboxes. RNG. It coul take from 20 hours of play to get one of those to 1000. I will probably never have most of them. And even then, my characters must have the right level to use them. It took like 20 games to get one character to level 10...

The game is really funny, the gameplay is great but all this system to unlock and get content is terrible.

Best way to level up, imo, is to wear pants that give hundreds of XP for not jumping in a round, then do Survivor on very easy difficulty. That's how I grind, anyway.

There are pants with a skill that gives more xp under certain circumstances? That's interesting. I have nothing like that but I wll take a look from now on.

Yeah. Lower torso / pants gear sometimes come with an XP bonus when you don't jump in a multiverse match. The maximum bonus is 500, lowest is about 100. So just equip the one with the best bonus. Unlike other gear, ignore the level and other stats. You only want this piece for the XP.

Other gear will give you a percentage bonus; usually 5-10%. That's not as big, but equipping that doesn't hurt, either.

There's also some gear (I think only head gear) that grants a larger bonus if you get a perfect match. I wouldn't worry about that unless you're particularly good with the character you're grinding.

Honestly, I found those pants and I started using them but I got tired. So, I let the ai do the job while I am doing different things. It's really sad, but I can't grind that much. It's a bit slower but...

There are shader multiverses but they appear very far between

As other said you can unlock the alternate shader for the default one by completing one of the first 3 towers in batle simulator

Also the specific characters multiverses (the first two on the left) can sometimes give you a shader upon completion and if you play the bosses within those multiverse several times you may get a shader as a reward

I would recommend spending credits on silver motherboxes, specially if you don't have many shaders to increase your chance of getting more shaders and don't spend source crystals, you should save them to unlock the premiere skins or nth metal shaders

But yes you'll had to grind a lot
I have the game since day one, played over 1000 hours and i'm still missing some shaders

Thanks.
I hope that people at netherrealm stop following the same direction. I am sick of lootboxes and grinding.
