I don't understand why fighting games do this.
Giving the final boss a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, overpowered attacks doesn't make it "challenging" it just makes it unfair. Seriously, Brainiac's tentacle things do as much damage per hit as a super move and cost him nothing, and he seems to REALLY like spamming them whenever you get any significant edge over him. It's like rubberband AI, it doesn't make things "even" it just makes them frustrating and borderline luck-based.

That's because the AI can't play "impredictable" and challenging like an experienced player, so they just turn up cheapness factor to 11 xD
It's always similar with NRS games. Shao Kahn and Kintaro were a pain in the a** to deal with in MK9, so as corrupted Shinnok in MKX.

What difficulty were you using? I've just played story on normal.

The worst boss character I've seen in the game tho has just been a buffed stats Bane with maxed difficulty...even AI couldn't beat him since he could take off most of a lifebar with a single combo.

I'm referring to Brainiac, specifically in story mode and the arcade mode, he has these attacks with metal tentacles which do hundreds of points of damage per hit, and he likes to use them when you have a huge advantage over him with health and especially when he's just about to lose. Each hit takes out like a quarter of your health bar.

Stay close to him. Those moves have a low start up so you can react and prevent the hit but if you're trying to zone him he will crush you with those

Shao kahn in mk9 was the same. He was really predictable and if you stayed close to him you can pretty much do a flawless victory in every difficulty

It's a pain if you get hit by it and you're not doing well on life...but just keep a good life lead and keep him busy with projectiles or mixup combos really.

Like with Batman abuse his jump 2 and mixup combos. In another game most of Batman's jumps would be punished all day long, but in this game it's central to his gameplay.

Dealing with Brainiac's boss move is better than dealing with Bane and armor really. I figure when they designed Bane they were like...the armor will help him against projectiles, but the armor makes him a total pain to fight otherwise.
There's a reason why in Tekken Hwoarang's armored launcher gets grief.

With Injustice 2 you have to look at it less of a fighting game per se, than a series of abusable things. So, find things to abuse.
The game isn't meaningfully balanced anyhow and counterpicking is a thing.

God. I remember Shao Kahn from mk9. It seemed like every move had armor. Same with Goro. Armor all day
in the fight with batman he uses this super big tentacles on close range too. what the heck should you do? have look so he don't use them too often?

the bosses in mk9 were really exploitable, with some characters it was actually really easy to make a double flawless on kahn at max difficulty

demon shinnok and brainiac are a bit more hard, but they're still easier than superman on the first injustice

at very hard he was insane! he did a lot of damage and his unlimited trait prevented you from using armored moves
