Game uninstalled - cheap AI
To be honest lets not do the developers any favors calling this AI. That's actually giving them credit for coding something resembling AI. This is not that.

It was a bit different when it was the guild multiverse stuff that had cheese mode AI in it, but the normal 3 rank blue multiverse stuff really has no business with max cheat AI turned on. Trying to level a toon, and it's awful. And it's reared its ugly head in a level 3 difficulty event. For LEVEL 10 toons, guys!

Lets dissect the "AI".

1) never misses a full combo - EVER
2) never misses a metered move ever
3) effortlessly pulls off pretty unreliable special powers (for the player) INSTANTLY

4) Ques off player's input; Will actually wait for the player to PRESS an input on the controller, then the AI ques off that and preloads the perfect counter with like sub millisecond timing.

It so ridiculous that I almost feel like I can control the AI opponent. If I press throw, they simultaneously throw a poke out followed by a huge combo., I stopped doing throws as there is no point to it. It's just giving the AI a free hit on you.

When trying to wake up the AI will stand right on you. When the AI is on MAX mode, you may as well lay the controller down (just wait out the AI to go back to normal). If you block low (before the motion is complete) the AI will attack high. If you even move your finger on the control pad to block high, instantly the AI pulls off a full low initiated combo.

It's gotten so bad that even metered back+strong are being metered countered every time (meter permitting) by the AI. In time windows that are impossible to do it.

5) AI fluctuates to god mode and back - there is a max AI mode, that is easy to detect. The AI will go into it and out of it. When its on AI max, you may as well lay the controller down for the above aforementioned reasons. Then the AI goes back to a normal mode and it "lets" you hit it. (doesn't that feel satisfying?)

So unless the AI is ready to stop cheating and queing off your inputs forget about it. Every move you do, every jump you make, every block is instantly known to the AI and it reacts even before the animations have begun.

6) AI has perfect knowledge of all move ranges, speeds, timings. And can pull off any of them no matter the complexity, and instantaneously.

7) And you can cheese the AI. On a good geared toon. But what you can't do is anything fun. You can't do combos, you can do special moves because they will block them 100% of the time and "punish" every time. So what you have to do is cheesy aerial jump kicks and baited metered power attacks.

For example the batman slide move. Never gonna happen against the AI. You can maybe chain it at the end of a move as they are falling downwards. But to surprise the AI NAH, not gonna happen Throws, nah forget about it, you might as well be pressing the combo button for them. And so on, half the moves are just plain ques for the AI to execute counter punch X or so on.

So in any case, this "AI" is cheesy, transparent, shallow, and mechanical. I can tell when the AI has turned on cheat mode just like a car switching gears. If you want to test out the lame AI, just watch how it will run up to you and wait for you to input a move. It will literally run up to you and wait. To make it more interesting bob up and down really fast and watch it wait, up down up down up down.

No matter which way you go, as soon as your fingers press any button inputs the computer will counter the opposite way. This isn't AI, its krap. I have uninstalled this game and I won't be buying injustice 3. It's bad enough the controls are all janky but to have the janky controls but with this garbage AI screw it.

Never see a dime from me again.

I broadly agree with your statements on the cheese-mode AI but please never type this again.

I barely ageee. In max difficulty yeah the ai reeds the imputs but thats oart of the learning curve of the game. You have to know wich moves are safe and read the ai patterns. Is not that hard. I only use the ai loadouts to fight lvl 20 bosses with lvl 10ish characters of farming for the legendary mv. Other than that i haven't had any problems fighting the ai at any difficulty. They are really exploitable

You can practice how to deal with ai combos and wake ups and how to punish them in practice mode

Well yeah the high level AI is extremely cheap...uses obvious input reading. NRS's AI has always been that obviously bad really.

But then watching the AI run amuck can help showcase another thing...how poor the gameplay is too.

NRS either is incapable or just too lazy to make either ok enough AI, or good gameplay.

I mean c'mon theres projectiles, low projectile even, that you can't block on reaction from across the screen. And NRS thought that was a good idea? Geez.
Among a laundry list of issues.

I agree with you. The ai can be difficult for new players. Personally I can beat the ai at max difficulty. It takes practice but it's possible. However I had hella fun reading your post :D
