He is good in close combat, has good speed, easy combos and tools to deal with zoners.
Green Arrow is one of the best zoners. Underrated by many players.
He has decent speed, he can shoot up, front and down. He also has different type of arrows. In close combat he`s not as good as Batman, but still very better than many zoners.
Supergirl is another choice for newbies.
She has this annoying teleport special attack that can make some players rage quit.
Decent projectiles, adequate speed.
Darkseid is good spammer.
When i failed as my main because of either mistake or lack of motivation to fight with zoners - Darkseid solved the problem.
Omega beams > Teleport (when opponent is too close or do it constantly) > Few attacks or special attack (Palm Blast it is i think) - Repeat.
You can also use his trait as bonus. Very useful.
Just I myself go easy on using the tentacle...since it feels cheesy to use. Same goes for any other insta-hit moves other characters got.
He has T-rex arms, so without bats his neutrals are terrible.
His walkspeed is slow and batarang has so much recovery, most of heavy zoners can outzone him.
Aquaman, Superman, Supergirl are much more easier imo.
I tried to play Supergirl and i see why ppl call her easy but for some reason i just don't like her at all as a character and her moves and kit. She feels kinda cheap and basic. Just like Superman.
So try to learn and be good with character that you really like, it will really be more fun. But avoid Poison Ivy, she is by far the hardest character in the game to learn and master, but she looks like so much fun. :(
I.e., you can pick Superman and backdash and/or jump and spam lasers (always keeping full screen distance as possible). Newbies (and even some mid skilled guys) can't handle or counter this sh!tt!e spamfest. Same with Darkseid setup said by X_X. Easy win.
But Batman is not that way, specially after nerf of November patch. He is "easy to handle" because, setups and long juggle combos are, well, easy to perform: he doesn't need perfect timing or execution as other chars.
Note that I'm not defending Batman, cuz he is Batman and doesn't need my support
I`m not the" type of person who judge people by hours spent in game",but unless you are very good in NRS fighting games - You should play more mutliverse (Hard and above is recommended for practice) and the rest of single player content.
Even after playing MKX, this game felt a bit different.
By the time you start playing online, there is a big chance that you won`t have problems with picking character to main.
To other users
All characters have weaknesses.
Zoning for close combat oriented character, fast close combat for zoners etc.
Your comments will only confuse newbies, since opinions are different.
Some suggest Batman, some say he is weak.
To be fair, most characters are good.
Batman is all about mixing your moves with specials.
Get close to your opponent by using hook, beat him, counter, step back throw batarang, use slide kick.
Aquaman is definitely not that good for online. Unless you play against player who can`t counter his tentacle attack.
He is not a good zoner and for sure not a rushdown.
He is slow, is crap in close combat, he`s ♥♥♥♥ zoner.
I use him as my alternative against zoners. That`s the only good use for him. At least if you play in "Mid-league".
Playing as the one you like will be a wise choice. Games should be fun.

Let`s be honest.
In Injustice 2, most, if not all, characters are easy to learn.
That`s the point of the game. Casual game for wider audience.
Buy gameplay is far moar deep than that.
