We then played reselect for about 5mins when I chose someone else and he chose Dr fate... (!!!)
I surrendered just to get a match and see hwo bad Fate was... it took a litle learning but if people will be spamming with DS or DF then i think i will avoid online for a while.
During Beta this wasn't possible and online was actually fun. Defeat was a learning process and winning was rewarding.
Now though it just seems like you need to out spam the spammers lol and I can expect that would largely be the reason why online has fallen off so quickly.
Admittedly though I am very new to this and never played MK style games very much... just wasn't my thing so I expect with time it won't be so bad... i hope xD
I can stomp noobs easy with her but against someone with equal or better skill i get trashed so hard.
To everyone ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about balance this and balance that:
Learn. Get better. Because I promise you, you aren't good enough for the balance issues to truly matter. PERIOD. You cannot complain about any balance issues if you cant even fuzzy block or read your opponent.
Also, Abaddon is the only legit player in this thread. Srsly.
This.
As a noob I found a few players that were considerate and once in a while reminded me they could whoop my mass.
I wouldn't mind sparring with a few players. No idea what a fuzzy block is. So if interested in helping me learn the ropes please add me.
As far as I can see, the ranking is not enterely based on win/loses ratio... It looks like there's a score system, which you get moar points if you win somebody with higher ranking/points than you.
Besides that... no need to be a brat... maybe matchmaking system just can't find any better suitable player.
And when fighting Supergirl you basically can't jump...and defending against her teleport seems like it was meant for 4 bars only.
The game has major cheese factor.
Mix with questionable online.
If you're not good at the game...I wouldnt worry it's nothing to take that serious. I just view it as a mess around game really....there are some fun fights to be had, but other fights are really cheesy.
To get really good at it you really have to throw out the window other fighting game experiences/logic.
That said, even tho I'm actually not that good at the game I still have a winning record...so unfortunately when people see my win loss ratio they may mistake me as being really good when I'm not and so like decline.
Yeah I wish they'd nix the win/loss ratio showing.
The game has no system of ranks or titles either from what I can tell...ranked mode is like vying for a line on a leaderboard I suppose.
*shrugs* It's probably not even a matter of simply *seasoned players*...the system itself is designed oddly all over the place. It's NRS for sure, and I guess they have yet to really re-examine their design notions. They shine except in gameplay IMO.
And sure after a while you might adapt to the weird design system but it's still what it is. That's what people do in any fighting game anyways, is adapt or try to adapt to the design choices.
Plus stuff has to be done online too....and the online in this is quite questionable.
And incidentally, without comp mode (that is, people agreeing to play in it)...many folks can't reasonably play online unless they are level 20 anyhow, due to again NRS design choice of stats in a fighter.
