Won't launch from steam

So let me start this by saying, this appears to be something with WB games, not just Injustice 2. And I have a work around. I just haven't had any luck finding a full solution, so I thought I'd post and see if maybe someone would see this who knows the root cause.

So, when I launch the game from steam, the load screen comes up, and within a few seconds the game closes out and goes back to desktop. The same thing happens with Middle-Earth: Shadow of War.

With both games, the prior game in the series doesn;t have the issue. And with both games, if I make a shortcut on my desktop straight to the executable file in the steam folders, the game runs just fine.

I'm guessing there may be something running on my system that it doesn't like, but I haven't been able to identify what would be different between launching from steam and launching directly from the exe. I have tried disabling the steam UI, and running steam completely under default launch settings, to no avail.

hello, I have the same problem, when I hit the play button, a minimum load screen opens, then a window opens that says unreal engine 3, after a few seconds, this window appears as not responding and closes Could you solve the problem?

For both of my WB games I have a shortcut straight to the launch file in D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Injustice2\Binaries\Retail\

And that works fine. But I haven't managed to get it launching from the steam launchers yet. Haven't tried to hard lately really.

When I hit the play button I can see that small screen that says injustce 2 but i don't see and unreal engine 3 window. I also tried launcing it from the files and creating a shortcut on desktop but when I start it from there it's even worse. That small window saying injustice 2 doesn't appear. It just crashes instantly

i solved my problem...it`s simple, i close Rivatuner and MSI Afterburner.... Ready to play MF!!!!!!!!

Yeah I suspect it's something like that on my machine as well. I just haven't taken the time to go through shutting stuff down and figure out what.

I've done it twice. Once before and after I reinstalled the game. All my drivers are up to date, I just updated windows and still the same. In case it helps, for a graphics card I have a Gigabyte GTX 960 4GB

me too GTX 960 2GB, i already have complete the story and play 1 multi verse without any crash, try to close all app, i have orig*n online before, i crash whenever try to open menu and play multiverse, some people say you have to turn off antivirus too, but not on my case i only have yo close orig*n and upl*y

I don't have origin, but I do have uplay, although it's not open. Anyway I'll try to close my antivirus and see what happens. I have Razer Synapse too, I'm going to close that one too.

So I can't think of anything that's change don my system, other than standard software updates of things like the video card or Razer software, and uninstalling a few old steam games. But Injustice opens fine for me straight out of steam now with no issues.

I don't have Shadow of War installed anymore to see if it is fixed as well. Don't know if maybe a one of the patches to the game fixed it or what. But whatever the issue was on my system has resolved.

I found what the problem was. I moved my game from the one hard drive to the other.
