Laptimes are too fast...
Fastest laps are coming up 2-3 minutes faster than real lap times for both the 600's and 1 liters on the Isle. The bikes should be slowed down a bit. Acceleration, top speeds, and corner grip speeds are off somewhere. Either that or corner cutting and/or aids are coming into play.

My quickest lap time is a 18min' 34.xxx with a couple of offs in fast places.
I know i can take at least another minute off that... that's using an xbox1 controller that i hate.

If i was to use a wheel, with it's accuracy...
I wouldn't like to guess how many minutes i could take off that time.

So yeah, bikes are too quick.
I shouldn't be able to hit 200mph with a 600.!!

Yes the realism ends if your going faster than the real racers.

Ya, what he says ^^
You're turning a simulator into an arcade game and grumbling about realism.

This is the point, in some places you are going way too fast, you are having crashes that in reality could result in your death and the destruction of the bike, then insta-jumping back onto a perfectly repaired bike and carrying on.

You are also probably using assists, racing line and third person, all of which are not available to actual racers.

When i first started playing my fastest times involved crashes, it took me maybe 60+ attempts to beat my fastest crashlap time with a full lap staying on the bike.

Play helmet cam, all assists off, no HUD expert mode and disregard lap times where you come off the bike, and then come back here to complain that you are destroying real world records :steamfacepalm:

TLDR; it's not the game that's unrealistic, it's the way you're playing that is unrealistic.

What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ , real racers dont lying all the time with there nose on the tank , real racers do use assist , traction control , gearshift and so on.
And in hemet cam you dont have the feel where you are on the tarmac as in real , its like you are drunk. Well thats my opion , and about unrealistic ?? Haha , sure you cant die . Man its a game.

We need 4 different scoreboards. Amateur, semi pro, pro, simulation that's it. Because with this scoreboard best bike drivers have passed for noobs ...

How did you manage to come to that conclusion "you're probably using assists".

I don't use any assists in anything i run, i never have...
...and the leagues i've raced in, have every aide off server side.
It would kinda' defeat the purpose of spending ~£4500-£5000 in sim racing gear, only to run
in 3rd person view. lol.

So yeah...
Absolutely no assists for me in anything and always always 1st person view.

About me going too fast...
If the 600 bikes were capable of reaching 200mph at the TT IRL, then the pilots would hit
that speed no doubt.
Would you then say to them, that they are going way too fast because they hit
what the bike was capable of doing.

This is the point...
IRL the 600's are hitting ~175mph around the IOM.
Ingame they are hitting 200mph, so ingame they are far too quick.

oh and before i forget to mention...

The reason i have offs is mainly because i'm not a button basher.
Using a gamepad is alien to me, i've been sitting in a race frame for ~20yrs. :)

Not trying to argue with you, just saying how it is for me. :)

You realise the real race bikes are aboslutely heaving with assists? There's no way 220 bhp can be put through one wheel without them and remain vaguely controllable.

And you do in third person dronecam view? :steamfacepalm:

I think the point here is the less 'arcadey' the game settings are the more realistic it plays, that is simply indisputable, and although some TT racers do indeed use some assists, it's not even close to what this game offers in order to make it playable for scrubs. :steammocking:

I think the third person view is closer to realty than the helmetcam , that one close by.

That is exactly how I play the game. I'm tired of looking at the top of the leaderboard and seeing unrealistic laptimes.

Real speed racers do lay on the tank and look thru the screen at high speeds, If you have ever rode at 260km+ on a bike you will notice your head will hit the wind like someone is hanging of your head, everyone in real life needs to set a bike up with a gp type screen in order to do these speeds safely without coming off, I used to ride like a madman, I had a tank bag and would lay down on it whlie going at high speeds, very hard on your back also, need to be quite fit to ride like this, these guys that ride these tracks, are madman, only madman can get a bike over the 300km+ mark, as yoda would say in this momment, "♥♥♥♥ your pants you will".

agree, while helmet can is true to the sport, the view sits very low, third person is more the view height you would see.

We're all in Tron with unlimited lives/restarts. It's a little easier to be overly brave, pulling that off gets recorded as a *hotlap*. If you want properly paced riding, then compare with the 6 lapper times perhaps? At least those longer replays look like a safer pace.

The only possibility to really compare the laptimes would be an internal counter in the game which counts all severe crashes.
And anybody whose counter is not at zero is banned for the leaderboard forever. LOL

Too late for that. Such a thing now would be a 'moving goalpost'. If I thought it was permadeath++ then I might've waited in pitlane to see how everyone else got on, and let the track rubber in, or wait for a drying line...oh wait, this is v0.01 in effect to how things will one day be.

That second video is not helmet cam the camera is on the tank lol

The games so called helmet cam is nothing like the view out of a real helmet lolol
