I've got GP Bikes. Physics are great. It's really hard at first, but suddenly something "clicks" and it all feels like a bike somehow.
Here's another one that might be interesting for you if you have not got it already. Don't let the age of it put you off. Community have been updating it for a decade at least.
GP500 (Old 1998/9 microprose) Pretty much an "abandonware" free download found on search with a lively community and more mods than you can shake a stick at, loads of tracks, every bike under the sun, and all sorts of mods and physics tweaks)

Also ^^^^follow this girl's channel for a lot of bike sim racing^^^^
Is Ride2 a challenge is my main concern? So if I push way too hard will I lose the bike...not really bothered about AI but also a big bonus as I'm studying/investigating them too; for my own sim which I keep going back to in my plans.
If I can spare the pennies then I will have GPBikes and Ride2 by this time next week! Plus I shall search for GP500 today, ideal cheers :)
@Kylotonn, hello (hello, hello), is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me...
Well I might have to investigate setting up the wheel for a proper go, as the video looked fun. But that was not ideal on keys...similar to my first go on TT though :P
Hm so Ride2 has no online sim-heads? Perhaps I shall just focus on GPBikes as I fit the niche. But I really want to hear that it has serious amounts of hours of playability and feels like rider ability is rewarded...similar to TT except without being punished for nothing.
I considered getting a cheap key but for example I was punished heavily for doing that with this game, when the publisher turned all ignorant because I was asking where my Joey Dunlop early adopter was...they just ignored and disrespected because I couldn't afford to buy from their preferred shop.
So I will behave and rise above the money makers.
Ride 2 isn't that bad. There is an easy camera fix and e very good physics fix available for download at Race Department's website. With those 2 installed I am realy enjoying it.
You can make ride2 a real challenge with addon physics mod.
Oh yea, GP500 is really playable :) You can make it as hard or as easy as you want, with lots of mods for bikes, physics, sound, effects, tracks etc. Plenty of real road racing circuits. I even got one once for the bremehaven fish docks races but lost it and can't find it again now.
You wont regret getting GP500, you can also get the "usual suspect" (or "highlights") ported IoM track shown below (abridged to 18miles by shortening the straights) that we all use in assetto corsa, GP legends etc. Just takes a little bit of scratching around on google and forums for all the downloads addons and mods. Hint "abandonware" ;)

One thing going for TTIoMtheGame is I can watch video #1 and recognise many a place. What a wonderful job Microprose did back in the day, they don't make games like they used to!
Video #2, the touching near the start looks so epic in terms of fun. None of that canned sound effect (boom) and sent in to orbit around Earth...
Also by the way the player rolls off the throttle, it is apparent that there is a fair amount of realism in the sense that it's quite 'simcade'. I look forward to getting in to this deeper further in the week, depending on real life right now being an @ss.
Also I think I'm sold on Ride2, too. That's as long as I can download all mods without any nonsense. Should be ok, but nothing seizes to amaze me these days. If that goes to plan then Milestone will get top dollar from me.
For sure I know of a game that could learn a whole bunch from this thread...
So over all go for Ride 2. GP Bikes is a different story. First of all its unfinished, still in development with a graphics similar to titles from year 2000. However it has very realistic physics, great multiplayer experience and all features real racing has. If ypu look for a game that has lots of mods add on tracks, realistic experience and features dont hesitate and buy GP Bikes. But, keep in mind that like in real life GP Bikes does not forgive the rider any mistakes.
