Please help with a resolution problem.

I was playing a little on my high definition TV. Then switch to a lower resolution monitor and now the right side of my screen has no access with my mouse. I can't access the options or any of the 3 buttons on the lower right hand side of the screen. Also whenever I try to start a match I get an error and the game crashes. Is there any way for me to change the resolution through a config file? Remind me to never go from 4k to 1440x900 again lol.

Hi! I am sorry that you encountered this bug, it is a know issue and we work on a fix. Meanwhile you may try the temporary solution from our programmer, please let me know if it helps:

Did you set your desktop zoom level to something else than 100% ? Unreal Engine does not detect correctly the maximum full screen resolution.

With this setting, Windows gives programs fake coordinates where one fake pixel may correspond to more than one actual pixel. So it also reports a fake desktop size with less pixels. Unreal Engine use those fake values to see available full screen resolutions, but in (real) full screen mode, those values are treated as real pixels hence the higher res are not supported.

For now, there are two workarounds :
- set the zoom to 100%;
- play in windowed or borderless mode. The fake pixels are converted back into real pixels.

The game supports 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 modes. If we find a workaround it will be included in a future version.

fixed the unfix problem of some games... https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1449204461 some people replied to me in that game it fixed their resolution problem ( windows 10 )

Apparently my zoom on my hdtv was 150% but on my smaller monitor it is only at 100% so I dont think that is the problem. How do I force it to use windowed or borderless mode without being able to access the options menu inside the game? I tried the DPI scaling from the second post but no luck. I hope it at least still works when I get back home on my hdtv.

There are also options in the Steam App itself to set certain launch options such as borderless Windows etc. It may work for you. I will also ask devs for a editable config file for you

Do you happen to know what I would put in the launch options box for boarderless window? Would it be -borderlesswindow or something else?

Something like -windowed -borderless, check the Steam support Page i know there is a full list of commands :)

i manage to reproduce the error u encounter . where u cant access the options buttons in game to change resolution . the work around for me was to use the basic commands alt+enter while in game and it forced the game to go windowed mode try it if u have not. once u manage to windowed mode u can again revert the resolution to its proper working condition atm. goodluck

I have since returned home and plugged back into my 4k TV and everything worked properly again. Thank you for your reply tho; I will certainly try that the next time I encounter that bug. I just passed my time with pathfinder: kingmaker instead. Not a bad substitute at all lol.

oh really ill check those out .. and also i am certain u can easily encounter it again when changing resolution since i manage to reproduce it XD

Pathfinder: Kingmaker just came out a few days ago. It's a new take on the old Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale RPGs set in the pathfinder boardgame universe. So far it has been top notch; I would recommend it to everyone that enjoys RPGs. Thanks again for the tip. I'll be sure to try it next time it happens.
