Not happy about heavy armor in the endgame, the latest changes make it trash
Heavy armor felt ok at the start of the update because you were basically trading energy and mobility for more protection and to offset it you would need armored combat skill tree and athletics.
To make heavy armor work in the endgame you need both athletics and armored combat, not to mention your weapon skill.
So this doesn't leave much room for anything.
With the curent patch i think the devs lowered the protection a bit, increased phisical damage reduction but nerfed armored combat bonuses so my character ended up with a lot less energy.
Starting with tier 3 the enemies start to attack specific bodyparts so my cheese of wearing worse heavy gloves doesn't work anymore.
it's so bad to the point where it's more efficient to take out my helmet and play pure crossbow:) it's more fun too
The heavy armor just has too many nerfs and no benefits after all these patches, especially since the dungeon rework, you end up fighting groups.
We also need more damage in some of the trees, making only defensive or utility skill trees seems lazy considering we have the electro/magic master 2+2 cheese wich gives more damage than an entire skill tree

Feels sad to reach endgame and farm so much to have your endgame armorset nerfed.
Now i need the unique heavy armor pieces to be as efficient as before but good luck doing T5 dungeons in heavy armor.
Medieval armor was very mobile and trained knights had no problem wearing it

Looking at the armor piece i think it was a double nerf, they lowered the bonus energy but also increased the energy penalty from the armor

Why the heck you need Athletics for heavy armor?
What does athletics have to do with heavy armor?

And Amored combat is good for everyone, not just a crutch for heavy armor users.

I run T5s in full light armor. How are you struggling in heavy armor?
Are you fighting 7 dudes at the same time or something?

What do you mean being a full body tuna can with more metal that manowa wasn't a great idea? What do you mean tired? What do you mean river?

I'll cross the river on my heavy shield! I'll use it as a raft! Devs? Devs!

Athletics to not chase archers and mages all over the place:) once i didn't use the dash to kill a necromancer and it ressurected 4 skeletons non-stop to form a bone shield.
i can kill 3-4 melee enemies but the problem is when a melee and an archer/mage team up, its free hits.
Light armor is the meta, no drawbacks and a lot of energy
Dash is literally 2 skill points. If you can't afford that I think there's something else happening with your build.

There's like 100+ different equipment in the game. Have you tried using a mix of medium armor?

If you think that light armor has no drawbacks then you definitely haven't been running T5s in light armor.

Ever seen 2 limbs disappear in one hooking chop?

well, if you read the post you will see that i am complaining that i liked my build but they double nerfed it after i worked a lot to get the best equipment in the shops. Using medium and heavy would be completly beside the point since i already invested my skill points. Using lower tier heavy armor is not really good in tier 5 dungeons.
It's about the endgame tier 5 and heavy armor being nerfed too much because it was too good in the early game...

Smoke bombs, backup crossbow, seal of reflection, other charge abilities, stay out of los and let him use all energy... there is plenty of options how deal with mages.

Even if you consider dash as mandatory (i do not) it is still just 2 points into the tree.

Otherwise it is funny as since RtR almsot everyone scream how armor is OP. I had both armored and dodge builds and both worked great - yet each with different weakness and overall the armored was safer at the end.

Can not 100% talk about yesterday patch, there is too much changes and I ahd no chance to see all gear in detail together.

i have a feeling light and heavy armor users get killed by the same thing. I just got killed by a murkstalker because all my skills failed to proc, same situation would happen to a light armor user.
While i don't get 2 limbs choped off, i still get very damaged and bleeding is still pretty bad. The differences are kind of small to be honest, i have seen light armor builds and they are mostly based around high dps so they spent less time in combat than my build.
Injury/bleed/effects wise its more or less the same even if my stats are almost double than light armor.
It's a weird balance, i also died in a t5 with 5 bleeds on me so it's still pretty much rng sadly. I wish they had a better way of balancing or at least keep heavy armor as it was

Well
Weapon tree 8-10 points
Opportune moment 1 point
Push the falling 2 points

What is the problem again?

Smoke bombs, nets and grenades don't cost mana to use.

Drugs are available for energy Regen. End game dungeons are supposed to be a challenge.

If you're having a hard time gap closing, there's plenty of things you can do to make enemies come to you instead.

Murkstalker has very higha ccuracy, that make him one oif few enemies really troubling for proper dodge build.

otherwise Dodge is better for your issue - no hit, no bleed. Heavy is worse in accumualting statuses.

Or just grab Cauterize wounds, that bleed res almsot eliminate any issue you can have with bleeding.
If you're spending a lot of time in combat, have you considered trying the survival tree with finisher?

First Aid/Will to Survive. Optionally take Finisher to reset all CDs and spam it again after every fight.

You can use the save editor to refund your skill points if you're unhappy with the armored combat tree

Free injury recovery every 10 turns

to give an example the knightly gloves now have 22 prot, phys res 31, bleed res 35, fumble 6% crit avoidance 9, -18 energy, -4% energy restoration
on the wiki they have 24 prot, 25% phys res, bleed res 30, fumble 5%, crit avoidance 10, -12 energy, -3% energy restoration.
So they basically nerfed a lot the bonus energy you would get from wearing full heavy plate by a lot and then they changed heavy armor to have less protection, more physical reduction, have more bleed resistance, but have huge penatly to energy and energy restoration, also a huge amount of minus dodge as well.

The aldwyn sabatons reduce energy by 25 and energy restoration by 4%, dodge chance by 19 points.
This is insane, they made heavy armor unusable even with the bonus from armored combat AND having +3 energy on all pieces
You take almost the same amount of damage but have a lot bigger nerfs so it's was just a huge nerf across 3-4 characteristics affecting heavy armor

Murkstalkers are kind of annoying now for sure. Nets can stop them from doing their thing.

I talked with a few people on the forums about using claw traps but I haven't tried it yet.

One thing I do know is that their stealth only lasts for 9 turns. If you just fight them near a door, you can just walk away and close the door.

They won't follow you through and they'll lose their special attack buff from going invisible.
