quest is not updating afterkilling 4 brigands and revealing the whole area. Did one run away to another map? Is there a way to get the quest Brigand to come back???

No, but I`ve read leaving and entering the map tile again will make the quest proceed

There are always 5 bandits to kill. You need to kill all 5.

The quest will always say "Help the Brewer", even after you kill all 5 bandits, but you can talk to Kromm after that to progress the quest.

In my case only 4 thugs spawned and now I can't progress with this path. I checked the entire Lone Farmstead tile + I looked in the adjacent tiles. I simply did not get a 5th bandit.

Edit: I tried to trick the quest by dragging some bandits from a different tile to the Lone Farmstead and killing them - it didn't work, so the quest is still stuck for me.

Did you figure it out? I had the same issue. Killed all the bandits and the dog in that tile and will not advance quest.
