Bows suck in Rags to Riches. Can't beat the manticore. Even at level 30.

Title. Playing a late game crit pure range build. Thought I'd stomp it as it used to be a level 15 boss. I have artifacts, tier 5 gear/purples and level 30. LOL NOPE! It's so unbalanced. This build can stomp 5 skull dungeons without taking damage. But the manitcore overwhelms the player. You can't reload, you can barely take aim. And they nerfed bows so no second dash to cover distance like in the previous update. Same thing with dungeons that have the blasphemous ritual modifier that respawn there enemies anywhere from 2 ticks to 15 ticks. The whole builds gimmick is putting distance between enemies and the player. Could I do a rework my gear to beat it? Probably. Will I? Heck no. Rather play a different build.

I thought getting to max level and grinding for really good gear would over come this but nope.

Question: Has anyone played a pure fire mage? Do they do better with crowd control? If not I'll go melee next.

Played the same type of build in the last patch and it annihilated the manticore.

The whole point of bosses is to have them require a different strategy to beat, not the one you use for dungeons.
I suggest maxxing your accuracy so that you can shoot without taking aim and also keeping the Hunters mark on manti and adds at all costs to furthermore boost yourself.

Yes I'm aware of this. Could change the equipment to favor accuracy over crit and incorporate a melee weapon to beat it. Nah. It's still a nightmare. You have to choose between skeletons and the manitcore or you get boxed in. The fight is a pain. Rather start over.

Does fire mage have the same issue?

how much do u hit for on average with take aim?

one of my builds atm is a "no take aim" seal of power electro archer and the damage ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks.

how much do u hit for on average with take aim?

with cross bow it was 79ish crit chance 44% with buffs. With bow like 39ish. but that's the manticore. Regular 5 skull dungeon enemies it's 271-300 damage a shot.

Give it a try with a bow, and farm those skeletons with hunters mark oh and yeah accuracy first.

Nah. I've beaten the manticore many times with other builds. I was trying to force a square peg into a round hole. Not working. Going to start over. Still want to know if a late game pure fire mage has the same issue before I even bother. I'd imagine any mage will do better because you can at least bonk up close with your staff.

I had to change out a coupe rings for accuracy, hornet honey and play smart to beat it using mighty kick and elusiveness. Ew. First time all run I used those...

What else did you want to use to fight it with? I would recommend abassa since it adds armor piercing and crit efficiency (I am assuming you're a ranger with high crit chance already right?)
I'm doing a melee which I suppose sucks just as much cause the manticore's melee can cause three different debuff at the same time. I had to bring antidote to make myself immune to the poison and use Cauterize to make myself immune to bleeding. I eventually crippled the manticore and prevented it from dashing. Then spent 60 whole turns slogging at eachother. I had to use three vitiviying essence during the bout

Brother, melee spellblade lvl 22 here, I manage to get the sukr to 20% but then he manos me down.
using smoke bombs with paregoric.
can u vivi on a drug? or is that bad trippin too?

they didnt fix horestail yet so no bleed rez herb :/

im noticin what caatches me a alot is somehow i eat a stun or immobilize.

idk where thts ccoming from tho

I went for the potion you can make to turn him back human at 20% to win. First time I got him to 20% and threw the potion it hit a rock... died and had to do the fight again. Watch out for rocks.

Save scum to see if the vivi will cause the bad trip.

I went for the potion you can make to turn him back human at 20% to win. First time I got him to 20% and threw the potion it hit a rock... died and had to do the fight again. Watch out for rocks.

Save scum to see if the vivi will cause the bad trip.

managed to beat him yesterday, then badly beaaten up aand hungover got ambushed by T5 brigands and undererstimated them, didnt save. what a blast.

Get the book and go talk to ol' crowley in the rotten willow. You need spider eye, amber, and midwort. Dwarf trader in brynn dock will sell amber. Magic shop should have crawler/spider eye. You can keep the potion and kill him anyway too. I think you have to have it at or below 20% hp for the potion to work. I did it at 19%. Save him and you get a special item when you talk to him again in brynn harbor tavern.
