Block Power Bar
The last time I suggested this was two years ago. So I think now is a good time to bring it up again. I think this one has been long overdue.

Unless since then the block power bar had already been implemented? I don't know. I'm still waiting till the 16th before I play this again

I second the suggestion. However I think the devs for some reason don't want to add this feature. It could be a legalistic issue? Maybe they can't add something that exactly replicates the features of a mod without being accused of ripping off modders' work (even if they didn't do so)? I dunno.

This is sort of why I don't usually encourage modding for games in development. There are a lot of legal issues under the surface. (Then again I don't know if this is the reason why devs don't want to add block power meter to UI.)

Since when did stoneshard have mods? Anyway, steam workshop EULA states that the developer legally owns any mods uploaded to the steam workshop so while it may be a ♥♥♥♥ move, it would be all in their right to outright implement or imitate a mod if they want to.

EULA doesn't mean jack if they don't upload their mod to Steam Workshop.

You need to join Stoneshard Discord and talk to some people to invite you to their mod channel or whatever.

I second this too, but the devs have a very strict answer to that - No. UI is final. Period. Not for technical reasons, not for the need of more sprites or anything. It's just final and won't receive any updates. They also by the looks of it despise the modders implementation of block power bar and the similiar stuff.
I suppose that's the thing you'd have to deal without, no shot you manage to convince devs to implement it.

Yeah no funking way I'm touching discord without a gun pointed at my head. If the devs decided to bunker down there instead of listening to player feedback then let them stay there

Yeah. I just checked that it's on nexus. You do know that they literally have been in their own controversy. Mod authors on nexus literally have to give away any semblance of ownership on nexus mods. If it's on nexus then the mods legally belongs to noone.

UI+ is the answer for anyone wanting these types of UI changes to the game.

Follow the guide above to mod your game. Might not work for a few days after the update drops.

So what part of that makes Nexus subject to Steam Workshops's EULA?

Having spent time in both Discord and Steam forums, I can see why devs decide to bunker down there instead of here.

The overall atmosphere in Discord is much, much more optimistic and cheerful than the doom and gloom here. I don't know why. My hypothesis is most of the ardent supporters went to Discord, over there we discuss things much, much more effectively. Maybe "chat format" is better for discussion than "forum format".

The devs do listen to player feedback. I can give you a really great (and recent) example, but I currently can't.

Buddy, I know you meant well but you kinda give off an air of pretentiousness. You just said that it require talking to someone and hope they let you in. It just sound like there is a degree of boot kissing involved. I'm not going to start every single suggestion with "BTW, love the game, but there is something that make it not perfect enough as it is". Sounds like they go there so they can live on a more authoritatively consuming space.

Discord is a much worse discussion format than forums or even twitter for that matter. There is only one room per topic so everyone would have to get attention or wait till someone is done. Have you ever seen anyone on discord taking their time to write a clear and concise message? Of course you don't. There is always one or two people who just go off topic or talk about themselves because they got nothing better to do.

I'm not going to the discord cause I hate it with all my heart and if the devs ceased communicating to their own playerbase on steam forum, then that's fine to me.

Dev is communicating on steam discussions, albeit rarely. Honestly, that's more than I would do as dev, as steam discussions are usually just awful.
For discord, people posting there will tend to be slightly more informed and motivated. Even though discord is a awful discussion format, it will just do better because of that one tiny tiny barrier to entry.

About block power: by the time I got Arna to lvl 18+, I think I ran out of block power twice. Don't worry about it, rather worry about your repair costs.
I'm all for optional quick expanded battle information though, would be great.

I know. Even though both place have it's own up and downs. What I would say doesn't change. I'm already here so might as well.

Block power UI is something that have been suggested since the game got released. I think the same goes for the backfire mechanics. It's something that would not be obvious to new players. And it's also something that is annoying to those who are aware of it and had to constantly keep track of it. I don't know what kind of engine made it impossible, but if a mod can do it, then the devs could as well

That's impossible because block power mechanic didn't even existed in the game early versions. You could just block hit indefinitely.

In fact you could create a build that reached 100% block chance and basically block every hit forever.
