Some people here have a Lot of play time.
After some time surfing in this forum i realized there's some guys with over 100 hours in stoneshard. Damn, last time i checked i had like 70 hours, which is a Lot now that i think about it.

Every time a major update drops i create a New character and Go through the game once again, most content i have already played, but there is enough Variety in each major update to keep things spicy before the truly New content, which is the New Boss the devs added.

Just thought It was weird How people have 100+ hours in this early acess indie tittle, stoneshard must have quite the charm to keep people playing for so long, this makes me hopefull It Will one day be a complete game.

I must have bought this game like 2 or 3 years ago. Having 320+ hours in it it's not that great considering I enjoy it.

I checked out the top reviews recently, and there were reviews with over 300 hours, 500 hours, and even one with 820.9 hours. I bought the game at launch, and only have 42 hours, so that puts me to shame. I played for the first couple of months that it was out, and then one time last year (I think with the City of Gold update), and now I'm back again for a third go.

I haven't actually seen much of the game, because I always went off and just explored the map, in prior plays. This is the first time that I'm doing all of the contracts for Osbrook, for instance.

Early access / beta games, esp with procedural generation and grind (fun though it is) can rack you up a lot of hours. I'm basically slowrolling it for the achievements and for something to jam on slow night shifts that I do a lot these days.

It's kinda pleasant and destressing and some of the skill trees, like geomancy, are just a pleasure to play.

Time well spent idling in the game while posting on the forums. 8)

Yeah 700 hours for me, though some of that is tabbed out while doing different things. 600-650 hours for real, I'd guess.

100 hours isn't much considering A LOT of people bought this game shortly after demo was realased( 5 years or so?) hoping for stuff that was promised and faster development time, which is slow at best considering it will take at least another 10 years or so if it ever gets completed.

Stoneshard is a good roguelike/rpg demo of a game with a lot of potential, was literally a wet dream for some players as there are no similar games, but a lot of people get tired out of it with waiting and tedious, unnecessary parts or unfortunate decisions like no animal skinning for quite a few playstyles as shown in steam rating and revievs, save for the negative ''game too hard'' ones.

Steam rating would be much higher along with the popularity if not that with every amazing part of content and/or decision from devs that we get, there are 2 smaller terrible ones. As a person on the ''big chair'' in game developing it just saddens me how much better it could have been with decent funding, work force and experienced project lead, and I can only hope it will realise half of what it have promised so I can actually start enjoying a finished product after paying for it years ago.

I have 420 hours in the game. It's a good game and I see a lot of promise in it.

It can be a lot, if you wanna get all the achivements for example, w/o cheats it's going to be a pretty long run.

600, but sometimes i leave it on in the background for hours on end.

trying all the different melee builds to see what combinations are possible with each release eats up time.

750+ here. Every major patch I come back and play 10 or so builds through lvl 30. It is great to see how the game is evolving between major patches,

This time I am planning:

1. Electormancer/Magic mastery (29th level currently, just killed the manticore)
2. Melee Staff/Combat mastery/Survival (11th level, waiting on defensive tactics bugfix to continue)
3. Crowbar Knight Athletics/Combat mastery/Survival, uses a crowbar as melee weapon - Was working on this last major patch.
4. Geomancer - My favorite skilltree, always have one
5. Archer - Had one before survival, want to see what I can do now.
6. DW - read an intresting guide not too long ago, want to try it and see if it works.
7. Electro/Spear, knockback focus.
8. 2h Sword... somehow, I have never actually made one. Need to remedy that.
9+10 TBD.
After reading what everybody else has written and admitted too, as far as hours played is concerned, I'm actually kind of worried that I must have some kind of Stoneshard addiction, although being retired and having a leg injury that keeps me at home might be somewhat responsible. But you tell me........Currently I have over 5,400 hours. Do I have a problem?
brown29knight Aug 14, 2022 @ 7:50pm
If you enjoy it, and it isn't interfering with your ability to live you life, then it isn't a problem.
200 hrs. And that's like 1/10 time I spend on some other games.

I usually work from home so I can start slacking off anytime I want to :D

The game is designed to pad playtime, you could start a brand new character and do a full run of Diablo 2 in the time it takes you to get from the starting town to your first quest location 3 map tiles away (you were lucky and had only one bandit group spawn).

Higher playtime is pretty normal for roguelikes, and this one keeps adding content overtime.

I find it more fascinating that there are "reviews" with high hours that contain some pretty oblivious nonsense, for example there was once a guy who wrote a review complaining about dying from thirst. You'd never guess buying an extra waterskin was so tough :steammocking:

No, you absolutely could not.
You would barely have enough time to get an assisted classic hell rush done in multiplayer.
