Skill Points Reset?
Hello Developers,

Will there be a way to forget your skill points and reassign them during the game?

Sometimes, especially in the beginning, when you don't know a character that well, you might (despite careful planning) give away points that you could use later. Especially if you have a level limit for your character.

Because creating a new character every time and having to play through everything again shouldn't be the purpose, especially since a lot of time has to be spent on it.

I could imagine that there is an NPC where you can reset your skill points for money. It shouldn't be too expensive, but it should cost a certain amount of money, so that you can think about it. In Diablo 2 there was something like that and there the price increased with every reset, so my memory.

A little off-topic, but I could imagine that as well. If you could reset all of your skills on said NPC. Experience, character level, reputation, and items you keep, so you can go from a melee to a ranged fighter, or even a mage, without having to invest hours in almost the same tasks again.

The Achievement list indicates that the game should be played with more than one character, so I would suggest to just play around and start anew, The world Map will always change so sometimes you also get advantages in rellation to the new positioning of special places. For Example getting a backpack with lv1 and without running around too much.

LImited respec options might get added in the future, however, as mentioned by the previous poster, the game is built around replayability, and you're not expected to master every skill tree in a single playthrough.

I think personally, allowing the resetting of the previous # of skill points should be ideal. It lets people test the skill(s) out and see if they like it. A full respec can work too, I'm not complaining if it is a full respec. But I don't think it's high priority now, hah.

That wouldn't make much sense in relation to the achievements, you know? I mean, you just have to pay repeatedly money or something to achieve another full Skill Tree. That doesn't make it like an achievement.

No, I meant only the last # of SP. For example, you can only respec the last SP spent. So, if you go up to level 3, get 1 SP, that 1 SP can be rededicated to another skill, but other skills learned before it (levels 1 to 2) are locked for good.

Torchlight 2 had this function, same as Diablo 3 if I'm not mistaken. (Although Diablo 3 offered the full respec too, maybe? Too long ago, I can't remember.)

Ahhh, okay that makes sense. There are some games which offer a complete reset of all points, so don't worry. Your games are not the only one.

But it is not replayable... with such slow and annoying traveling, I've go and opened 50-60% of world map and get to the left-bottom corner, find dungeon, not any interesting item on it, such useless many points of interests, and when I was ready to go back... I did count the cells to go back and just close the game... 30 minutes to just go back, no any time speed or auto-pilot, I just need to waste my time to do nothing interesting but just clicking!
I wanna say that I never will replay this, I even dont understand why I need to open the map, in this beta no any target endpoint to evolve, just endless travel and clicks to find good dungeons, and for what? for endless farming them with again endless travel and clicks

Just unlock the saves and allow editing again it would solve all this, just put up a pinned disclaimer that if you edit your saves at all and have bugs or issues we will not even look into it or help you

For me, it's not so much about fulfilling any achievments.

As mentioned here, the time you have to spend traveling and exploring is enormous. Especially for casual players this is a shortcoming, because not everyone has the time, or wants to take it. Especially when you've made a mistake with the scoring and realize in the endgame that you're missing a point here and there. That's what my question is about. It occurred to me that I had this feature in Diablo 2, only that it was limited and I would like to think that it became more and more expensive if you wanted to reset it. (Or was it in WoW?)

I don't think it's good to open savegames. Leave it as it is.

I admit to being one of the people with limited time and while I like huge explore-able areas, randomly generated woods/fields with nothing in them but random goons and no way to increase travel time... kinda sucks!
SO I advocate cheating if you don't want to simply wait till the game is finished. Cheat engine and waiting till level 2 will get you 3 SP, which is all you need to get the [double] value for skill points so you can have every skill if you want that badly.

If you do add something, don't just make "pay gold get reset"

The potion of the new you
"Made by the mad alchamist <insert amusing flavor test>, drinking more then one is not advised"

Has a cumulative 25% chance / potion of killing you.

Save files are not locked though, they are compressed in order to optimize loading times.

Travel times will be reduced in the next major update (Rags to Riches) with an introduction of the Caravan System:

We also plan to gradually add random encounters, more enemy types, and more activities that will make exploration more varied.

My point was if people could still edit the saves it would probably stop a lot of the complaining, but would possibly create more bugs for them in the process

More bugs = more complaints either ways. Most people will complain about the bugs first, before mentioning they did anything such as altering save file data...

In the Total War: Warhammer 2 forum, that's almost always the case: someone says there's a bug somewhere, or some race/faction is OP to all hell, and get all kinds of "what are you talking about" replies from people before they'll then say they're playing with SFO mod or Radious mod, or some unknown outdated mod on Very Hard difficulty (that game is balanced on Normal). Even in Stoneshard forum we've seen more of this "complain first" nonsense than otherwise.
