Can anybody tell me what "V-sync" in the Video Settings means?
As the title says. I'm clueless to its meaning.

"VSync, short for vertical synchronization, is a graphics technology designed to sync a game’s frame rate with the refresh rate of a gaming monitor. "

But given that the game is pretty much capped at 40 fps due to the engine, I dunno if it does anything.

Thank you. I know the Native Cursor option does nothing. Maybe this is the same. Or maybe its something the devs intend to work on at a later date.

Any chance there are any devs reading this, that could enlighten us?

Enlighten you about the native cursor? Or V-sync?

V-sync.
Well both, I suppose. But I already have some idea of what Native Cursor means.

This setting works only in Fullscreen (exclusive) display mode, it removes screen tearing.

And about native cursor setting - it enables rendering of cursor through OS natively, if you turn off it, then cursor will be rendered through game and its movement update will be capped to 40 FPS. So... with this setting you will have smoother cursor movement.

Excellent! Thank you.
However it does present another question. What is screen tearing?
And just to be clear, I already have fullscreen (exclusive) display mode enabled.

My understanding of Native Cursor was that whatever your pointer (cursor) looks like outside of Stoneshard is duplicated in game. And since that didn't happen, I just presumed that it wasn't working.

Screen tearing happens when the Display starts drawing a Frame before finishing drawing the frame before, which would create a visible line (tear) in the screen that divides the old frame from the new frame.
V-sync then prevents the GPU from pushing a new frame to the display buffer before the display has had time to fully draw an old frame.
