Holy magic?
I know that we'll have a ton of magic trees but after browsing through them I feel like one is missing :D Holy magic. I think it'll suit the game very well. We even have some small glimpses of it like weapons with holy damage, holy blessings etc. but what about full magic tree? Imagine having some kind of paladin weapon/magic hybrid :D Two handed sword + heavy armor + holy magic.

It could be especially good against vampires and undead but weaker against living enemies like bandits and animals. It could require probably also some tinkering with vulnerabilities, -50% to holy would be too strong I think, so maybe undead and vampires -20% to holy, and living base +20% resistance?

And maybe some uniqe healing spell at higher tiers? :>

Well, in lore, the members of the church have lost their ability to use holy magic, or miracles, for some reason or another, so probably no.

Though it would be nice to roleplay as a paladin

Access to holy (and unholy) magic and items is fairly limited in the game's setting, so there are currently no plans to add a dedicated "paladin" ability tree.

That's a shame that game lore will limit classes so much. A necromancer ability tree would be really fun. I remember what you stated about companions, that there will be none. But raise corpses would be nice even as limited to for example 10 turns, then they may fall down.

Well, we could for example get a big expansion later in the future with story about restoring holy magic in the lands :D And this could unlock new ability tree.

I don't think limited classes is an issue in a game with nearly 30 planned skill trees. Unholy magic / holy "magic" (as it's not really magic per se) being inacessible to regular mortals are crucial points of the world's cosmology which helps to create an interesting and coherent world. Sure, it might be fun, but it's just something that doesn't align well with our setting.

Sure, thats understandable. But who knows, maybe in the future our standard human/mercenary will be able to touch some divine powers after some dlc... :D

But about the world you are creating, where I can read something about it? About the lore in general? So far I found devlogs about races and factions:

Races - https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/625960/view/4647108190407000397
Factions - https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/625960/view/4647108190407000513

Currently there's no way to read all in-game lore in a formalized fashion. Lore devlogs are a little bit outdated, especially the races one.

The best you can do right now is visit the game's wiki (https://stoneshard.com/wiki/Stoneshard_Wiki) and check the texts of in-game folios and treatises, as well as some items descriptions. There are also a few in-game NPCs that shed light on certain lore aspects (like the hierophant and printing house owner in Brynn).

But what about moral choices? I love paladins, crusaders, inquisitors and their kin, too, and that's why I cannot imagine a paladin who - for example - completes that quest about brewery in favor of Odar the elder. And Host is like "duh, whatever". Man, even having business with guys in Rotten Willow is morally questionable thing; true warrior of light would rather slaughter and burn everyone inside than helping Lowcrey and others. And don't forger about very, very shady matter known as politics; I'm 200% sure that eventually leaders of Magistrate would use our brilliant merc as "black ops"-guy against Council and/or each other. So it's getting very difficult for developers to intertwine holy or unholy magic with player's choices. I guess the best thing devs can do is unlocking some traits according to our walkthrough. But again - what if player decides to be good in some quests and be evil in other ones? Hardlock some choices if a player is gone too far in one way or another? Well, it may have sense, like it was in "King's Bounty 2". But still, for devs making a believable paladin would be complicated as hell.
