Whilst I don't think they are remotely as good as two handed swords, the wounds they inflict are devastating in a long battle. You slowly make them useless the longer the fight goes on.
More like possibly next year.
Character Creation is in High Priority (for reasons). That means it's quite likely to come after the Venom in the Waters update, and with the current situation in Ukraine/Russia I don't see Rag to Riches coming any sooner than Q3 this year, putting Venom in the Waters on release for next year.
I'd just like to point out that all dates I mentioned here are MY personal speculations and shouldn't be taken as gospel.

Is on roadmap since 2021, but is HIGH on roadmap since last update. It got higher due to people asking for it excessively, othervise it would still take more time to get it, now it can be expected in next few updates :P
For example, we know elves exist in the game, but there are also orcs, dwarves and barbarians.
I imagine AFTER those are released as enemy factions, player customization won't be far off.
