Also, he is immune to damage when tentacles are out. kill the tentacles instead, each tentacle killed does increasing damage to him. 3 or so and he dies.
Yeah, once the tentacles are in play, the ♥♥♥♥ has hit the fan.
What does that even mean? jump and evade? Do you mean Dash? Dash has a cd of 18, it is not gonna help you against this boss.
Ball lightning, use around corners so boss never gets LoS on you. If you have no area to lure the boss where you CAN duck behind corners (constantly), then you have to get lucky with stunning or dazing him, so the tentacles never spawn.
key word there is lucky.
I don't have Ball lightning yet so RIP
But yeah, Tentacles should be knock-backable and the summon should have a cooldown, imho.
The fix was not fully retroactive. In my own case I had started new playthrough before the fix. By the time I had even made it to Mannshire, the fix had been deployed, but the first contract I received was still high tier catacombs. The next contract was high tier crypt and high tier deserter captain, which I accidentally (but fortunately) missed. After that the "Brynn newbie catacombs" contract came up with only low tier proselytes and miniboss.
Ultimately I still had zero trouble with Anmarrak once I figured out how to defeat it effectively with AoE attacks, but I can see the encounter being more challenging to mages.
