Any tips on how to kill the troll with melee?
I'm using Jorgrim, all the axes and almost every dual wield skill obtained, only Concentration, Whirlwind and More Blood! remaining.

I also got a potion of frost (to throw) potion of fortitude, precision, 2 antivenom to reduce the toxicity, 3 splints, 2 healing salves, surgery kit, 1 potion of life drain, 4 Vivifying essence potions and some wine.

As for weapons I got 2 Battle Axes, Hauberk, Sergeant Gloves, Open Bassinet, Splint Boots, Fancy Belt, Travelling cape and the Hand Amulet.

Oh, and also 2 Silver Amethyst rings.

All enchanted.

I know I'm up for the long haul, but I wonder if I'm under prepared in the weapons/armour department.

Edit: Its also raining.

Edit 2: NEVERMIND ITS DEAD AFTER 20 TRIES! Cant believe Jorgrim dodged 6 TIMES in a row, took everything I had in the back pack and I still got 2 and a half healing pots remaining and the life drain potion, 2 splints and the healing salves...

♥♥♥♥, FORGOT TO USE THE POTION OF CURIOSITY!!!

Jorgrim and Dual Wielding skill tree both focus on killing multiple enemies. So they're ill-matched against a single monster like Ancient Troll. But if you have some axe weapon skills, that shouldn't be too difficult of a fight. When the Ancient Troll uses an AOE attack, you run to the tile next to you that doesn't get hit by the AOE, on the turn the AOE procs, you attack the Troll once, and then repeat. Right-click the Troll to check its skills cooldowns. On the turn that the Troll attacks you with a basic attack, pop Elusive, or just Dash next to him, either of these will give you dodge chance which you should have quite a lot of as a Dual Wielder.

Even with all the fumbled strikes the Troll does to you, eventually you'll still get damaged bad enough. So you want to pop some healing potions, or healing items from time to time. Always use Concentration, that skill is crazy good. You can also use Deflect if Elusive is on cooldown.

Sadly, Dual Wielding is a bad match-up against the Troll. But it is not impossible to fight the Troll with Dual Wielding, you just need better gear.

Throwing bottle of oil at the Troll should make it oily, the debuff is +% fumble chance on the Troll. Absolutely useful for a dodge build since a fumble may trigger your dodge, which is a full dodge, no drama such as bleed or whatnot.

Hit it until it's lips fall off, and try to avoid dying in the process.

Seeing that it was raining, you could have just thrown a bottle of oil at him.

What does that do?

Well, is nice to have the advice so I don't rely on luck to kill it next time!

Out of curiosity, what do people think is the easiest troll melee build? I am thinking about doing a shovel knight run, was thinking Velmir (i have never actually used him before), thinking of 2h axe (spending 4 turns picking up things sucks, need second slot for shovel), i have also never played 2h axe so something new :)

Bleed-based builds. Troll is extremely weak to bleeds.
