Share your Build + How would you build...
Hey, just figured I would make a build discussion thread, where people can also maybe ask each other for tips on how to make certain builds, and share their knowledge of the game.

Share what you're playing as well to boot!

Right now, I'm playing a dual mace build. I started off with Jorgrim, mostly because he has a decent passive for a dual wield archetype, and begins with dual wielding unlocked.
For skills, I started off with Seize the Initiative the early dual wield skills, to help with fumble chances in the early game. I took mostly powerful passives from the dual wield tree and Offensive Tactics from Combat Mastery for the much needed boost to damage and kill times, until I took Onslaught from the mace tree at level 4 or 5, mostly because at that point I wanted to make the build a little more active. (Note: Jorgrim doesn't start with the mace skill-tree unlocked, but you can easily get the first tier of skills by paying the smith in Osbrook).

At this point, I worked towards a few utility skills, like Dash from the Athletics tree for gap closing, and Armor Break to take advantage of all the stuns and staggers that I was getting, and the inevitable jump in armor that undead and bandits were going to get for the contracts in Brynn.

For attribute points, I just dumped my points into Agility until 20 for fumble reduction and dodge chance, and then boosted Perception to 15 for the vision and crit chance (crits work very well with maces because of daze and stuns), with accuracy being a nice boost as well for switching to flails at some point.
Armor is pretty straight forward; I just went with the usual light armor with good dodge bonuses to synergize with the agility that a dual wielding build typically demands.

Anyways, post your builds, give some details, and ask for help with builds you don't have much experience in!

I for one would love to know if anyone has made any builds that rely on heavy armor, and how they built that up. Insofar as I know, many of the builds I've seen are all about dodge, so if anyone has any insight into an atypical build, let me know!

If you can manage your energy and other drawbacks, you can still wear heaviest pieces of armor in your hands and head. They shouldn't have any dodge penalties.

So long as you have at least some means of mitigating damage, heavy armor is very useful. I don't think relying on armor itself solely is effective or economical; you'll preferably want to take the fight out of your enemy first, or defend yourself by other means like blocking or Stone Armor. Taking unmitigated blows into your heavy plate won't negate all effects of powerful enemy attacks and it wears down, mounting maintenance costs. But maybe this is all redundant information that doesn't need to be repeated...

Using two-handed sword, I think switching to weapon or even just enchantment with increased body part damage offers at least as much defensively as it does offensively...

If you want atypical, I just slayed the troll with a fully unarmed build.

Otherwise I recommend mixing magic with a weapon that synergizes with it. Like Geomancy + Maces work really well together, you can knock people into your boulders to confuse/stun them, it's pretty fun.
Spears + Lightning is kinda cool too, but you want to lay out your build in advance there and maybe get some treatises.
