There is. Search online for "Stoneshard trainer". Let's you enable speeding up time (I recommend x2.5) with a shortcut. Will improve your game experience exponentially!
Make sure it's for v0.7.0 plus
Small tip: If you're traveling unexplored area, click 3-4 tiles ahead at a time. Still very quick. When you're sure you've cleared area, you can middle-click and pan to where you need to go, just make sure you don't walk over traps!
Just let us rent/buy a horse and travel to already discovered locations.
Sometimes I may play the game, do one contract and close the game because I get so bored with walking around that I can't bother doing a second contract during one session.
Yeah. Even when everything is going well this game can be a bit mind numbing. The bigger map is cool but it's making enjoying this update as a whole kinda mind numbing, I might just need to take a content break.
The problem of the big map is the lack of POI. With the current size of it and amount of POI it can get boring fast and get annoying to have to walk your way in and out long distances, just a small tweak of random encounters or more POI would fix this I think, map is really too big when compared with how many places of bandits camps and stuff
Super weird that you replied to this while I was playing as the Huntsman on a CW run. You know, until Vermintide crashed. As it does.
Heard CW runs are busted with the current grudge addition? I didn't even tried it yet and tbh haven't played much Vermintide 2 recently, it's a good game though, in terms of melee mechanics system and slaying rats and chaos can be fun but now with almost 1k hours I guess I burnt out a bit, the game has its issues though, regarding p2p server, crashes and ocassional toxic and anti team players, but I had my fun out of it, maybe someday I'll start to play again
Reading the forums, it seems like a bigger problem than it is.
Your party can get stupidly powerful in a CW run, and now there's something to counter that. But sometimes your CW run is filled with boons to enhance your blocking power, and then your boss has "shield breaker" which rendrs blocking useless, and it feels bad.
Or you're a ranged character, and the boss is immune to ranged damage. Oops!
I don't think it's game breaking just because you're whole party can get powerful and well rounded enough to overcome most scummy RNG situations, but it can also just abruptly end your time invested into a run, so I get it.
Well since I didn't tried I can't tell...but I heard many complains about it, the bigger problem of CW is the duration, imagine doing a full run and you crash or the host crashes, there goes 30-60 min of playtime gone and wasted. If it weren't that issue I would play CW more, if only Fatshark had made dedicated servers the game would be so much better... Looking forward for Darktide though, hope they learn with the mistakes, I'm more into FPS but Vermintide 2 is an exception but you have ranged chars there anyway so that's good, the mix of melee and ranged is also on point
The walking speed is an issue because respawns are less frequent, and the map is bigger, than before. This leads to wide open, boring spaces. But both these are temporary. The Devs needed to expand the map before they could add the caravan system, witch will cut down on walking. The also plan on adding more PoI, but again, had to expand the map first. There has also been talk of retooling the respawn rate once the caravan system is up. With those in place, the only thing faster walking will do is path you into dungeon traps and outdoor ambushes/bears faster.
For now however, it is a good QoL thing to speed up movement.
Therefore please use the stoneshard trainer mod. This way the Devs can make the core game, instead of spending time tweaking what is, and when the mod is obsolete, the Devs do not need to revert anything, you just uninstall the mod and move on.
Taking in the scenery is nice, especially in a slow-paced (turn-based) pretty game like this one. Before the horses ruin it, try using alt-enter to switch out of fullscreen in-between middle-mouse-buttoning to the edge of the map and selecting your path there.
That way you can have a stream open in the background and watch that for the 30 seconds while your character is traveling. Alt-enter again to go back to full-screen.
Or get a second monitor, grandpa.
And some pneumatic monitor-arms while you're at it, scrounge that desk space.
That's cool, but I'd rather the travelling just be more engaging. I appreciate that the game has a slow pace, but with the new map size it's just endless empty tiles at times.
It's not game breaking or a big deal, just kinda boring.
