Is the troll bleedable or something is broken
I mean seriously, my Dirwin tried at 14 with full range build with kick etc.
I have reduced the troll's armor to 0, with broad tip arrow and all other buff which would often guarantee bleeding. Yet the beast just doesn't bleed. with my laughable damage @ roughly 40 per hit with luck @ 60 its close to impossible to kill this bugger. My best is wear it down to 30% so far with inventory full of supplies...

Also when I pick up my freaking arrows i cant open my inventory to put it back on. Hence i have to drop it down and then pick it up and get punished. This is just bit too hardcore...

Haha, I know your pain, all to well. But to answer the title question, yes you can make the troll bleed... but it is difficult. The fight requires a great deal of luck to not have your weapons drop on his stun. You also have to mind your distance with it. Keep it close enough that you can quickly dart in to stop its regen on the second turn. It helps when you have movement skills like distracting shot and dash, so you can avoid the aoe attacks. Lastly, bring potions that will help. Potions of elusiveness will help dodge for a while, and stoneskin will help you tank the hits while you pelt him. I had to bring multiple quivers topped full of arrows. Mostly broadheads. You only need a stack of twenty of the bodkin arrows to whittle down his armor then switch for maximum damage. All in all though, its all down to luck. I managed it at level eleven, but it took a couple of tries. I was trying it again with a perception/agility dodge archer build, but it was very unsuccessful. Stick with going full perception and gearing up in the heaviest protection armor you can. And invest in energy plus enchantments on all your gear.

@Jon Snow
What level are you playing it on....Iron Man? Or the level doesn't matter? As if the game isn't already FULL of rng hell....smh.

Heh, no, I do not play on permadeath. I do agree that the game is very rng heavy, which can be a very bad thing on many occasions. But you just need to know as much as you can to help even the odds. Finding higher geared items in shops is impossible until you raise your reputation high enough. But because of that mechanic, if you are feeling unsure of yourself during contracts, you can farm the first four dungeons and raise your reputation with the first village enough to buy rather powerful gear for relatively low risk. Just beware of the roads, as ambushes scale on level.

Other than gear, the rest is either luck or your choices. Go in with a build in mind. I like playing Dirwin, so I have been experimenting different builds. The one I have found most effective is the heavily armored ranger. By pumping perception high enough, you no longer need to waste a turn taking aim. Skills such as suppression can help, but when fighting the troll I tend to conserve energy to use for escape skills such as distracting shot and dash. It will be a very long battle, so bring plenty of ammo, preferably the broadheads as they cause more damage.

The trick to fighting the Troll is his many skills, most of which are aoe. One of which is a stun/daze that can cause you to drop your weapon, and it is very hard to recover from that. This is where luck comes in. Some runs I dropped my weapon almost immediately and the fight was practically sealed. Others I was able to get away with only a daze that locked my skills but still allowed me to basic attack it. The hard part comes when he goes to heal. Unless you have spent points in the dagger skill that allows you a free weapon swap, its going to take a turn in order to draw a melee weapon, which is your only hope in stopping the regen. That is one turn wasted, just on getting a melee weapon out. Then you have to get close enough to him to hit with said weapon. The Troll heals for four turns, I think? That means you have to be rather close once he starts healing. This will likely cause you to be in striking range of the beast more often than not, so again, come heavily armored and with potions. You can dodge a great many of his attacks by simply controlling where you are and where he will strike, but only the best of the best can dodge them all and I doubt we would make that cut.

Overall, it may take many tries, or perhaps a different build altogether. Either way, good luck!

@Jon Snow
Thanks for the advice!

Wait, you can't open your inventory when fighting the troll?
I could, but not when i picked up the bow.
i guess that's 'cuz my hand is full, so i have dumped the bow and open the inventory and pick up the bow again then equip. technically 3 free rounds for the troll the beat the crap out of me...

My last attempt on the troll was cake walk, and it was my 30 or so attempt...
I bled the bugger in first three rounds, and the roar has not once dropped my weapon.

I drank only 1 healing potion for dropping the bugger.

It's worth noting that the Ancient Troll's bleed resistance is 70%, so he's got a good chance of negating any bleed effects that proc. Only time I've made him bleed is when Hunter's Mark was active, and even then it's rare.
