I know right now, stat points are best dumped in a single stat at the moment to maximize certain "advanced stats". Like, full STR to max out Block, Weapon Damage, etc.

Will the stats be balanced out in the future so that it makes sense to put some points into VIT or AGI without gimping ourselves in the process?

I'm asking because 1 stat point per level-up, with only 29 level-ups max, doesn't really give any incentive to spread out stat distribution. Willpower has some interesting advanced stats (I don't know what else to call it) but pure STR characters will get less block just to get some points into WIL; half-STR/AGI characters will get thoroughly rolled over by RNG if they put points in WIL; archer with points in AGI/PER/WIL will just make them so much weaker than pure PER.

The varied advanced stats spread across 5 stats is very interesting, it's just that the current stat system feels like it is not working towards it. Either we need more stat points per level-up, or there needs to be a soft cap or something, or both so that more stat points per level-up discourages people from going even more invested into a single stat.

Theres little incentive to try to balance stats atm since most skill trees arent even in the game and skills are mostly relevant to stat balance.

I wouldnt be surprise that we will se a major overhaul of the stats before the end of early access.

that being said maybe vitality should see a buff to become at least viable before the definitive version of the game.

I agree with Funk, I would like to play around more with my stats and not feel like I am lagging behind. Being able to bring down my energy consumption in any meaningful way, and/or building for a dodge build to go with my ranger... It would help to open up build options to more than just what skills you pick. I get that they still have skill trees to work out, and some extra content past level ten, but I would think that they would want the stats right before implementing better enemy ai and stealth mechanics.
