Ranged Weapons skill tree does not work for Crossbows.

The title. Why are crossbows not considered ranged weapons?

"Take Aim" Works, did not use the other skills for now

You have to load your crossbow with a bolt first and then the skill will be available for use.

To load your crossbow, you can press crt+clicking on the ground, rmb on character and choosing "reload", opening inventory and right clicking your crossbow and clicking "reload", or attempting to attack an enemy with an unloaded crossbow will reload it.
