Bow accuracy

So, I seem to miss with the bow...basically with every shot. I will get in one hit while the enemy closes and I swap to daggers and go ham. Does the bow accuracy ever improve, or am I always going to be taking pot shots?

perception increases accuracy, also the first bow skill increases accuracy

are you putting points into Perception at all?
my character had 10 perception and i was in the same boat, was like 1/10 shots at max range i might hit, then maybe get 1 shot before they get up to me, i put 2 points into Perception, and id say ill be able to land a shot within 8 hits now and get about 2+ shots on their charge most the time.

Gotta use Take Aim and add it in your rotations, though I am worried about the patch notes saying they lowered bow accuracy even more....does that mean their base acc will go up or down?

Had 15 perception and a bow with -43% acc, hit every other shot usually. Didnt have take aim, all stats were in the ax loadout

Gotta use the take aim skill, IMO best to get the 2 active dagger skills first and go dagger only, then pick take aim with the first level up.

i got a level 8 archer. use take aim. you can eventually upgrade it to last for 2 shots - but right now i'm usually one-hitting about 25% of bandits. killed a bear yesterday too...

but i'm going to start a new char today.

the bow accuracy improves with better bows and with increasing your... percetion stat i think its called. mine is like 20 and i dont miss a lot at all. sometimes i dont bother using 'take aim'.

The bows in this game suck, i respect Aero for trying to explain the proccess but to have to do that much work to enjoy a class dedicated to the weapon seems tedious. In contrast to someone like the mage who i really had fun with even though i was getting my butt kicked but eventually i really enjoyed using the magic the game had to offer me.

What do you mean, work? You literally just take the first bow skill. Am I the only one who saw that bow did <40% accuracy and thought 'oh I must have to take a bow skill to use it'? Do you usually use weapons without any skills?

well, when you become strong enough with a bow you are basically unstoppable. no enemies can reach you and you get most of your arrows back.

a mod also told me they are planning to add more arrow types - and i'm sure they'll add even more bows with less of an accuracy hit. but yeah, best bow i've seen is a longbow with only -30% accuracy. costed about 2k gold. then you can enchant the bow on top of that.

In my opinion, this is a stupid ass system who wants to play a game where they're constantly missing when it comes to accuracy. Rng should not be a thing makes no sense too. You're supposed to be this mercenary pick the ranger mercenary and I can't hit the broad side of a barn. What the ♥♥♥♥ how about this for balance make the damage ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lower instead of the accuracy

Nice 3 year necro, are you using take aim from the ranged tree? You pretty much have to use it before every shot

It's a grind, no one said it was easy. If it were easy this game wouldn't be worth it.
