Multiple bombers? What?
Never had them just randomly stop shooting at it. They might also be stuck on trying to shoot another unit somewhere.
Do not use archers unless it is a second layer of defense kind of thing. Standard response from the AI is to send APCs at your archers, and those APC are gooet at killing archers. Use simple turrets when playing as scion, they are your first defense vs air units. All the scion rocket stuff is effectively fluff and just takes away from simply kicking the AI's butt instead of making thick layers of defenses. And as the scion are the offensive faction, play them as such ...
As ISDF, make a cluster of R-tanks and use them to help you push forward, spreading R-tanks around is just going to make you loose more assets as single units R-tanks are quite vulnerable.
That said, imo some mods are not that great in actual gameplay. Having to fight endless large waves of mere assault units and constant streams of air-units that will try to win from you by sheer bulk becomes stale very quickly. Partly cause most players are not good/coördinated enough to deal with it unless 2 hours of gametime is spend reinforcing the recycler. As such I rather play vanilla and start a second match after we/I won the first.
That's fair, IMO, vanilla is very boring, and the stock AIP is extremely boring, it's easily predictable what the AI will send to you but... that's me (well this is true for just about any AIP but).
I used to toy with AIPs and DLL-driven AI's and made a lot of flavoured AIPs and even then it becomes predictable if you scout around and know how to spot certain routines. But yes, in vanilla when you see the first wave of Atanks or Mbikes you pretty much know what you will be facing for the rest of the game. :)
Still predictable, and I cba to start as pilots to begin with. To each their own.
