Multiplayer not working. Help?

So, I bought the game for a friend and I. When I click Multi I get the following message "Warning: There was a problem communicating with Galaxy Client. Ensure client is installed and running and signed in before starting BZ: CC."

So, ok...didn't know what Galaxy was but google helped me find it. Don't like that I needed another app to play a game I bought on Steam, but if it let me play then fine. I do this. Galaxy is installed and running and signed in, yet I get the same message. I am unable to play multiplayer. How can I fix this? Please help.

never heard of it.
Steam is working fine for me and 31 others from my friends list that play this game.
one of them had time outs joining games tho.
didnt mention galaxy anything.. to him

I've been googling to try and find a solution but so far I'm at a complete loss. It's incredibly frustrating. My friend finally got the game downloaded and it won't even let him make a pilot. He puts in the name, clicks enter, and the text he put in just disappears and nothing happens. I played almost 3 hours in Instant Action and it seemed great. But now I'm starting to feel like the game is broken. I took a screenshot of the error I'm getting in case anyone wants to take a look.

Nevermind. I got a refund. Maybe after some time has passed and the developer has ironed the issues here it'll be worth the money.

We're looking into this issue for another user, I've just raised that you also have this issue too. Will respond when I hear more from the devs :) BZIIR-2322

Thank you for replying. I do appreciate it. I have many fond memories of BZ2 and always hoped for a remake. No other game has ever captured what I found with this. Multiplayer was a huge portion of that for me. I look forward to seeing the game mature and repurchasing then.

Heres the advice I got from QA as they came across this issue at earlier stages.

"- Uninstall full game from steam

- Uninstall beta version

- Go to - C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games and delete Battlezone Combat Commander folder

- Go to - C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ and delete their BZ2R and BZ2R Uploader folders

- Go to - C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games delete the Battlezone Combat Commander MP folder if they have one and delete anything else named battlezone"

Please let me know if this helps, sorry it took some time to get back to this. Hope it works :)

Also if you're using GOG (which I imagine you aren't but worth checking) you have to be set to online in GOG's apps to play online.
