just so I'm clear
There's NO horror to this, right? I'm barely into the game and the creepy music is really getting to me and the guide I'm using says "I recommend turning on the light in the hallway wherever possible." with a heavier focus on "whenever possible" since its underlined such which is really freaking me out. While I am playing games for spooktober, the review I found to get an idea of the game before opening it(I already had it) said there isn't any danger to the game.

I'm just asking this in an effort for people to calm my nerves and perhaps level my expectations of the game.

The only scary part is at he end of the game - I don't want to give it way and spoil it for you by telling you what will happen but just keep in mind that after you get into the attic - there will be a scary part and you will need to run fast

can you at least tell me which part of this guide it is? As far as spoilers go, I haven't been paying attention to the plot for awhile now, and I don't get a thrill from being scared. Only reason why I play games for spooktober is it gives me a chance to play the games I got from bundles, as I probably won't play them otherwise. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3306340884
Edit: Nevermind, I do feel like the review mislead me though.

Am I actually in danger during the final scene?
Bear in mind that I'm so chicken ♥♥♥♥ that for about 2/3 of my playtime so far, I've had the game's music muted and I've got nightcore music playing in the background because the creepy music was getting to me, and the nightcore music was because the lack of music was ALSO getting to me.

I've been looking at the game too. I like mystery games, but like you I have serious anxiety problems with scary games. I DON'T WANT TO PLAY SCARY GAMES.
BUT. I want to play this if it's not scary...
So... is it a scary game? Am I going to start hyperventilating while walking through a sewer pipe? (it showed one in the steam store pictures/trailer). Is it going to throw spiders in my face? Or rotting corpses? Or is someone going to start chasing me trying to murder me???

So many mystery games get ruined by these things :(

Is game scary?

Edit:
I went and checked out some playthroughs. It IS an anxiety inducer. :( That's a shame. I'd say what kind but I dunno how to put on spoiler bars.

Its not a big deal, at least for me, but if you want to know, you can click "Formatting help" below the text box. Just put what you want to say instead of "Spoiler text" like shown in the example. I've also voluntarily spoiled myself on the game, so I'm not as bothered as I otherwise would be.

This walkthrough will have all the information you need including pictures. Chapter 5 is the conclusion/ending of the game. Chapter 5 will explain there are 2 endings - you will need to save the game at a certain point in order to get the good ending. It will explain when you need to save the game then restart the game for the good ending. What I mean by "good ending" is you will have to run very fast out of the attic from the danger through different areas to escape. Be sure to read Chapter 5 BEFORE you go into the Church attic. After reading the conclusion then go into the Church attic. - Once you are in the attic, there is a desk - so remember not to do anything in the attic until you read Chapter 5 -- it will explain about the desk drawers. You will know what to do AFTER you read Chapter 5. I did not have the walkthrough so I went into the attic and got the 'bad ending' But keep in mind- that both endings are scary. Chapter 5 is a long Chapter to read but you will see pictures of the "scary" part at the end of this Chapter. I loved the game.
