Please help - study room desk code

If anyone can point me in the right direction for something I missed, it would be greatly appreciated. I have been stuck on this since last night.

I have the diary that gives the hint as "chess pieces (K=King/Knight, Q=Queen, B=Bishop)"

I found the king, knight, and pawn, and noted the numbers on the bottom of each

Because there are four digits for the study room desk code, I just plugged in the digits on the bottom of the chess pieces and guessed for the fourth one. So far, nothing, not sure if I have the right order

I also thought maybe we are assigning numbers to the first letter of each. I found a Knight, Pawn, and King. KPK. Look at the alphabet and assign 1 to A and so forth, and that would be more than 4 digits for KPK

Hi. Just today I have finally solved this puzzle with chest pieces.I have found 6 total chest pieces, two in the desk which is in the study room, two in the shed behind the mansion, one in the safe which is in the gallery and there is also a clue about those chest pieces and the last one in the time capsule in the cemetery. When you look closely at the lock on the desk u can see letters there K Q B K, so u only use 4 chest pieces, king the number is 4, queen the number is 1, bishop the number is 9 and knight the number is 5, so then you have two possible choices for the code: 4195 or 5194 and the right choice is 5194.. Hope it helps :)))

When I left off early this morning I had yet to find something to dig up the time capsule, so that missing chess piece was tripping me up. I now know how to get the shovel.

I didn't want to check the other thread for fear of accidentally seeing too much ... I'm trying to avoid that as much as possible :)

Dont open stuff before you actually got there in the game as it adds nothing but confusion :P

so dont open the desk untill you got all 6 pieces and the clue. Thats the easiest way.
Same with the other puzzles. there is no guessing what so ever. all puzzles are correct once you find all pieces and information

You should check out Dead Secret and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Very similar. I am also looking into Left Alone as my next mystery/puzzle game
