How to turn off the music?

It's a slightly petty request, espcially since I can mute it at the press of a button. Purely for ease however, is there a way I can turn off the intro music?


It's a great song and all, but you don't know how many times I've opened the game late at night or with my headphones on (sound louder than it should be) only to then give myself and others a heartattack.

Is there a way to turn it off?

Delete the file from folder Football Manager 2018>Data>Game>Music>background.ogg

Also, you can turn if off by going into your preferences and un-ticking the 'Play Background Music' option.

Where is this option as I cannot find it..

When you start the game, "prefrences" is right in the middle of the screen, click on it and it brings you into another menu. Then under the match column there are two boxes that can be checked; "use sound in match" and "play background music" uncheck play background music and it will no longer play when starting the game or going back to the starting menu. Hope that helps!

You need to go into Preferences before loading your save game - there is a check-box there to turn off background music.
