For me, and some may disagree, the key is to look for positives in defeat..... and don't blast your team for playing poorly when they are clearly not used to your or style.
When I say look for the positives, watch the game. Was it an even game where you had decent chances and maybe your strikers missed a sitter etc.? Did you dominate the match etc. Was you up against a top performing side? Did your player get sent off or give away a penalty? Did your defender fumble the ball in the box and gift opposition striker a free goal?
If you are losing games which after watching the match and feel like you could have easily won it on a different day then my advice is to stick with your tactics, do some tactics training and see what happens. It took my Barnet team about 5 or 6 games to get to grips with things and now they are playing really well and winning games, squad harmony is high etc. We were 1000/1 to win promotion (joint lowest) and expected to get relegated, ten games we are fifth.
In a different career in beta I started with a 4-3-3 tactic and it was abysmal. We were playing league games without even a shot at goal... with 3 strikers. I could see this was not going to work and immediately stopped it.
If you feel like you are getting absolutely stuffed and there are no/few positives then maybe look at your tactics and try and analyse whats going wrong by watching the game and using the wealth of new analytical tools. Something I always do in my Lower League careers is immediately fire my assistant manager and hire one with the highest tactical knowledge I can find. If its really going badly for you and you have no idea what to do then you can maybe try some of his suggestions in regards to formation and instructions. Also this helps with opposition instructions and the new tactical meetings prior to the game. I like to delegate these two tasks to my high tactical knowledge assistant.
How many games are you in?
To me it sounds like maybe you have a good tactic if you are making chances and not scoring. I can see a lot of posts about strikers not scoring etc. and to me it sounds like people are playing a few games and coming to that conclusion or managing this situation badly. In my experience strikers not scoring is a confidence issue, you need to man manage them accordingly to build their confidence.
For these first 4 or 5 games just focus on building your teams confidence and tactical familiarity, pay attention to the dynamics screen. If you are ten games in to the league and still not perofrmig then maybe its time to try somethign different or tweak something.
He did specifically say he wanted to make his own tactic and did not want to use anyone elses.
Bought 12 players of which 10 are in first team.
All are 4 stars current ability. All younger than 22 yo.
Team cohesion is abysmal and it was from start.
Created 4 1 2 2 1 with IF and Winger, AF
Have really cover for all positions.
We play control or attacking fluid football
Look for overlap and work the ball into the box with normal tempo and short passing.
Defensivley we arereally strong but i noticed most of goals conceded are from my Fbacks making mistakes.
First 3 games i had all draws which were really deserved since i was not able to dominate possesion and had same number of chances as opposition.
Then it started to go all wrong for me since i had two worst teams at home and we lost both matches. First one we were 2-0 up and lost 2-3. Every match it feels like real struggle. There is one cool thing about serie B - players have max wage 300k per year which means I was not able to get sup3rstars even tough i had the money.
But my squad is solid and I really took hours just to decide which player should i buy etc.
Dont think i did not try to mingle a bit. Tried counter tactics with direct passing. Tried high pressure attacking tactics. NONE WORK.
Now im 21 st in the league with 1 win 6 draws and 3 losses. Just cant hold onto something showing promise. Board wants top table finish and they are not happy.
You bought ten first team players in one window...... Think thats your issue mainly.
Did you scout these players fully? Like to see if they are consistent or fit in with your squad dynamic?
My formation is very similar to yours, but has different instructions and style. I swear by it every year.

This is working a treat. My team is 1000/1 for promotion, the lowest, and right now we are 5th having won 5 out of our last 6, 4 match win streak.
You can give it a shot, I know everyone has their own way of enjoying the game, its just from my experience what you are doing will cause many many issues for your form and man management. In real life sometimes it takes one player a year to gel.... Thierry Henry was considered a failure at Juventus before Arsenal bought him and even there it took him a season to get to his best. Van Persie took a while to fit in.
Now imagine ten in one team..... Especially if they are foriegn players. And also younger players.... these guys need confidence qand development, this might explain why they are not performing persistently.
In my opinion this just sounds like really bad management, if you want to salvage it you are going to need to focus really hard on your man management trying to boost players confidence, however it might just be a bridge to far at this point. If it was me I would have been training team cohesion literally every week and as high as I could, also did you get your captain to introduce all the new players to club etc?
Unfortunately this is football :(
It just takes time to develop a brand new squad and most boards won't give you that time.
Give my tactic a try, it works for me. Sadly I dont know if you will be able to save things, it just sounds like too big a job to cultivate that many new players in one season and still meet your objecives.
The game is not easy when things go wrong. It is one of those things unfortunately but while winning breeds confidence and improves performance, the inverse is true. Losing games makes things worse, a lot worse. You need to nurse your player back to confidence, which could take sometime.
Only thing I coulds say is that seeing as you have edited the game anyway to give yourself sugar daddy, why don't you just play it out, if you get sacked just add yourself in as manager again and have fresh start.
Never got sacked to add myself as same club manager in 20 years of Fm. But I always try one or two saves with edutor editor help :)
Last year I took Manchester FC in Vanarama and made all youth and training facilities 20 :)
It was a blast. And do not think it was easy way to premiership. Since all my best youths were snapped every year. It was easier when I got to championship
Make sure you train them on the tactic, shouldn't expect immediate results with any tactic, team needs to get used to ti etc.
You were right. I stick to my possesion tactics and for match preparation always used teamwork. Ittook some time for everything to settle in. Got some good results and now im 4th in the table. Everyone is happy including board. Seems like structured style of play was needed at first and no roaming for positions cause all those youngplayers are very limited with positions knowledge. Put on dm postition a guy who is less rounded but has more pace and better marking. He became engine of my midfield. When my two wingers started scoring or assisting then points were for grabs.
It seems like its every year so. Just need time for our ideas to settle.
Good job! Now you are over the hard times its about maintaining your squad forms and minimising dips in form. Its important to remember that even when playing well dips in form will happen, could be a game or two, could be 10..... Its all on your management and squad personality.
