It would be nice to have something extra to do with wages other than them provide a bit of job security.
Well The idea I had was to make it impossible to touch team selections and such play as just an owner, you would have so much to do it would never get boring, Plus it be cool to work with managers like Klopp ect and help give them the foundations to win stuff.
Personally, I think SI is afraid of leaving their comfort zone.
To do it properly so its actually good and not just a novelty added to appease a very small number of new fans means basically adding a new game in, with new mechanics. Would probably affect the core game as well.
It doesnt even really make sense I cant see much of a game here. How does it work? Like a owner has x amount of funds right? So do you decide how rich you are before game starts? Then how do you invest money? Like there is no game in just typing in how much money you have... And then what do you actually do? Pick the manager...... Then what? The OP brings up USM2, which I enjoyed actually, but its not a realistic sim, its a tycoon game essentially with a foobtall managent sub game... Its not FM.
Without beings its own game its just a gimmick which adds nothing to FM. It doesn't synergise because its unrealisitc for teams to just grow out of no where. If your not the manager how do you influence your club to grow? What are you gonna do in game? Press continue for 5 years until you have enough to build a stadium....? Maybe hire a manager in between?
And for what.... Fm is pretty in depth as it is. Does it need filler? If you are playing properly then managing morale, harmony, player development, club stature, staff level and player scouting should be more then enough game play.
Thats why people have 1000s of hours in FM because it has great core gameplay.
Just dont see any use at all for this.
Personally I am glad they go in their own directioin I think if they added eveything people suggest the game would die. I just think who do I trust? The people who defined and monopolised the genre for 30 years or some randoms on a forum? Some of the ideas people suggest are just awful and not anything to do with FM, not saying this is the worse, but it just bothers me that people seem to think they know better then SI about what should be in the game.
I mean maybe if the game was failing, but its not... it has a total monopoly on football manager sim genre. There are no competitors... It is a top seller every year.... Why do you think that could be? Also how many games do you know that have dominated their genre for 30 years.....
Think I trust SIs judgement, loving this years editions and the new additions and the improvements they have made. Too many cooks spoil the broth, I love it FM dont listen to evey single idea and explain exactly why they dont want these useless features that are suggested every year.
Lol, what are you talking about? I mean I could of called you a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ but I didn't, no need to be rude.
Asks what people think.... gets offended when people tell them what they think, because they have a different opinion to them.
The problem with society today.
+1
I got offended because you assume way to much, I been playing these games since championship manager 97/98. I'm 36 years old and people who start a reply with insults and assumptions are not worth my time.
That's the first paragraph, and i dont see an insult anywhere. You read less than this and called him a tosser. Are you really 36 years old? or was that a typo and you meant 6? Jesus.
I would tell you to man up but your 36 so its too late for that.
Anyway your ideas garbage and will never be in this game because SI arent potato brains. Is that less assumptive?
The compromise would be the general manager position, or club director. Both of which are an intriguing idea.
Madden (not an ideal parallel) has tried to implement ownership concepts in the past, and it just becomes shallow. Sure, it is cool to move a team or upgrade a stadium but that is about 5% of your gameplay in a given season.
Personally I'd rather they implement lower opportunities before higher ones. I'd love to start my career managing Liverpool's U18 team.
Thats some fair points, but would like to add, fifa manager wasn't the best management game, but playing with options on the business side of things I feel added quite a lot to the gameplay.
Also Ultimate Soccer Manager 2 I remember playing as a teenager and it was really fun, now of course it might be more me falling into the old trap of reminiscing then it actually being good.
I'd also like to add, sure it would be a fair share of work, but i think it could be done in a way as an add on and use the current framework.
For me anyways would be something romantic about starting with a non league team building the club up in every aspect to pro leagues then go onto who knows what from there.
