I dont understand what being hungry does to me

I just started, trying to make myself some roasted chicken but I am unsure what hunger does, i am at 0 and nothing has happened.

Hunger is not fully implemented yet. It does give you a 10 strength buff but only if you are fed. but it decreases to fast.
