FPS doesn't seem to be the issue; though I can tell it's not been optimized.
4k: 50-60's most of the time; with occasional, very brief spikes into the 80-90's
1440: 80-90's most of the time; with occasional, very brief spikes up to the 110's
Changing resolution didn't do a single thing to change my experience, other than an increase in fps, as expected.
Every single thing else I've mentioned above is still relevant to my experience.
Animation/Response Delay This could be linked to you network or ping you have. We have not yet encountered this and players range from USA to Europe. Could also be because we are still in pre-alpha thus have not finalized all animations.
UI is HUGE We are still in pre-alpha thus we have server stability more as priority. Being a 2 man team we have to set whats important to develop when. We do plan to have Ui scaling in the future.
If you have reaction lag it could be server side bugs which came into play with latest release. As we are busy fixing many bugs we can only find when players are in the game.
Yes, the animation/response delay is possibly from ping-related issues, namely distance to server/# of hops.
Not everyone in the US can access the same servers with the same ping response. There are variable such as location, quality of service (dependent upon how urban or rural the area in which one lives), etc.
I normally have ping (to Eastern EU servers), from most games I've played, that doesn't behoove playing a pvp game. This is, by the way, even during EA, why most companies have a bare minimum of 2 (yes, even tiny teams, because it's important) servers to begin with.
However, there are plenty of games. This one simply seemed interesting to me for a bit. I saw that it began in 2017 on Steam and thought it would have more of the basics ironed-out.
It's going to be a hard pass for me, but I wish you all well.
