Did Couch Co-op ever get added?
Hey! As title says, I know Tuques announced a free update having couch co-op a few years back, but I notice that's not in the store description. Did this ever happen? Or did they lie about couch co-op being a priorty *again*.

Thank you for anyone who'll answer!

No couch co-op never happened, lot of reasons why I am sure lol. I wouldn't say they lied, but this title def fell through a void after release. I am amazed they stuck with it long enough to get the Warlock class out and fixed some of the broken mess that it was.

6 months on....Couch co-op is not only not a priority, no co-op is a priority as the servers will go dark soon and only single play will remain (for now at least)

I mean, they did lie. They said when they announced the game they were "resurrecting couch co-op". It was their biggest talking point when the game was announced. Then they just ditched it, and lied about potentially adding it to try and milk some sales. Liars.

Correct. https://archive.is/Hru2W
That was the reason I bought this game. Thankfully I got it during a buy two get one sale at GameStop. With the state it's in now, I can say it wasn't worth the $5 bucks.

If we're getting speculative here, the Xbox Series S might have been a contributing factor, at least in part. Implementing split screen isn’t inherently difficult if online co-op is already working and the system has enough horsepower to handle two instances of the game simultaneously. (I mean, an app like Nucleus Co-op can do that on PC.) However, that horsepower is where it gets tricky. The Series S, with its 8 GB of RAM, is severely underpowered compared to the other consoles on which the developers intended to roll out the feature. (On PC, they could have simply set higher system requirements for split screen.)

A similar issue arose with Baldur’s Gate 3, but Larian was eventually allowed to release the Series S version without split screen. Unfortunately, this game doesn’t have the same high-profile status as BG3, so the developers may not have received the same lenience from Microsoft.
