I saw twitch players already playing it. The re-release is not a remaster. In any way...
You can play it online only via steam remote and parsec. It has nothing new to it, other than being released 20 years later on PC.
I own both of the console games from back then and fired up an emulator to play it on the PC. WITHOUT EXTRA COST.
Don't know if my emulator would make this possible over parsec, but since you can connect someone to your PC, I won't be surprised if it works.
There: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 AND 2 playable for free (for those who own it..and for those who don't...well...you know..)
So for those who already have it: spit into your hands and make it work. Don't pay for games you already own..
The price will be 30€. Mad price
Mad indeed...
Best wishes!
I’m sure they’ll offer some rudimentary form of m&k support which I’m sure is why it didn’t launch at the same time as the console versions, along with working on resolution options and online multiplayer, but bear in mind this was developed for consoles all the way back in 2001 and will naturally play and feel better using a controller. Grab yourself a cheap pad, sit back and chill.
Not a remaster, no, but 4k widescreen with instant load times makes it the definitive version. And the PC version coming later this year will have online play, what more could any fan ask for? Well, maybe a discount lol
They were always 60fps.
If it was an actual remaster with QOL changes, maybe. But to have basically a director port of an almost two decade old game cost 30 bucks is insane to me.
Really hope that they add m&k support for the game but you are right, it could explain the later release. Just seen a few videos of the new version on youtube, with 60fps and 1080p it really looks not bad for such an old game.
It's THAT Dark Alliance? It wasn't even good! What really drug it down is the fact that it used, reused, and re-reused the maps. Just like Dragon Age II, the money-grab from BioWare did. Tedious, repetitive game-play that sent you back through the same dungeons over and over and over again to collect this key or open that new passage.
Whew. Thank God you let me know it was just re-release and not a complete re-work. Saved $30!
Add in you have to game-pad it make it work right... Man, I dodged a bullet.
I know what you mean, I'm allergic to m&k unless I'm playing SimCity or AoE lol. Probably due to my setup, I like to sit back in my lazy armchair and play games.
Yea the graphics were ahead of their time for 2001 and still hold up well today which is probably due to the pre-rendered backgrounds. Same with the Resident Evil Remake on GameCube (since re-released), that has and will continue to age damn well in terms of visuals at least.
