Issues launching the game

We are working hard on a fix for the issue with game not launching properly, displaying a black screen and not progressing, but I'm afraid I don't have an ETA to share with you right now for when it'll be done.

In this thread I'm gonna list all the workarounds that have worked for some people. If you want to play the game right now then consider trying them all. If none of them work for you, please share your logs and dxdiags with us - more details on that in the second part of the post.

BEFORE YOU POST

1) If you have programs for your peripherals running (such as Razer Synapse/Chroma/Cortex, Steelseries Engine, Roccat Swarm or Logitech Gaming Software etc), try disabling them.

2) The game won't start if you have special symbols (such as + or ;) anywhere in the directory path (for example, if you have it installed in a folder like D:\+GAMES+\;WEEDCRAFT). For now you will have to move the game into a different path.

3) Make sure you have the newest display drivers. It's not uncommon for games to not work at all without proper drivers.

4) Go into your local files folder, find the "Weedcraft Inc" executable file and run it as administrator (rightclick and second option from the top).

5) While you're there, you can also try opening the game's settings launcher - open the game while holding CTRL (or alternatively, add -show-screen-selector to launch parameters) and there you can lower your resolution and graphics profile and see whether the game launches afterwards.

6) If you can, try installing the game on your C:\ drive and see if that helps.

7) Double-check whether your PC meets our minimum requirements.

8) Try fiddling around with Weedcraft Inc.exe properties - try different DPI settings and compatibility mode, turning fullscreen optimization on/off and see if anything helps.

LOGS

In order to fix the issue as soon as we can we need data on when exactly is it occurring and why. You can help us by sending us some logs. You can do it by using WeTransfer.com or any file-sharing website of your choice and posting the link here.

- Output log
Every time you start the game, it creates something called "Output log" which contains information about what occurs in the game's underbelly. You can find the output log here: %AppData%\..\LocalLow\Vile Monarch\Weedcraft Inc

- DxDiag
Dxdiag file contains information about your PC specs, your drivers' version and so on. To make one, you have to open the dxdiag.exe program (press your Windows key, type "dxdiag" and press enter), make sure you're running the 64 version (it opens by default on Windows 10, but you might need to switch using a button on older OS) and then choose "Save all data". This will create a text file you can send us.

- Crash dumps

%AppData%\..\Local\CrashDumps
It's unlikely this particular issue is creating any crash dumps, but regardless, it won't hurt to check those two locations and see if there are any - that would tremendously help us in identifying the core of the issue.

before posting this : im sorry if this kind of error should be posted in private but I cant load my saves, the game gets stuck in an infinite loading screen after Q16-17 but its not a direct crash just infinite loading screen

Don't know if this helps, but what I have found is that the oldschool recommendation of only having the game open and running is being ignored a lot of times these days.
If there is anything else at all open, especially that might be using surfaces/audio/video/devices at all, shut it down. All that should be running is the app or game itself you want to get to work.

I have many times found that games will crash if for example I have a video player still open and as soon as I close everything first, the game launches fine.
Maybe this will help at least someone, too.

Edit: One other potentially weird/neglected but possible aspect is scanning your system for malware(clean boot and virus scanner bootdisk, not from within the running system ideally).
I had issues many many years back with Need For Speed and it turned out to be a small-ish virus.
One last exotic thing: Setting your sound from supporting 48khz to 44khz 16 bit Stereo or vice versa sometimes did the trick with Realtek sound.

Also be sure that no gamepad or other USB devices other than kb/mouse are currently plugged in.

If its starting to sound like random voodoo - welcome to PC troubleshooting. :)

Thanks for your recommendation, but how about...... other games on unity engine which perfect running with any usb devices attached and video players ranned )))

All you need to do:
1. Open the properties of the weedcraft file.exe
2. Compatibility
3. Before each start of the game to put or uncheck the option "Disable fullscreen optimization".
4. Click apply.

If it was on, then turn off - apply - play / if off, then turn on - apply - play

In some cases, you may need to restart your computer. After rebooting, perform all the same actions, and then run the game

The game runs for the first time normally, after saving the game and ending, when opening it again can not load. The game hangs from the loading screen, or sometimes the screen to enter the greenhouse.

I've done all the tricks and attempts explained here. Nothing worked.
It sounds like a cool game, but this problem is critical. I am unable to use the game.

Hey, one more thing - could you tell us the exact model of your graphic card? Unfortunately DxDiags don't say the exact model of AMD cards, just the chipset series. But based on the info we have it looks like your machine doesn't meet our minimum system requirements. So while you might've been able to launch it, once the game starts requiring more resources your PC fails to load it.
