Darkness gimmick looks like it's going to be infuriating, not fun!

Yup, utter silly nonsense, the entire game. Be warned too that the "developers" have no idea about making functioning achievements, so you get "dumped" on with several achievements when you exit the game. :steamsad: :steamfacepalm:

Hey PC GAMER.
We worked very hard testing the "War Heroes: Invasion", but nevertheless there are a few bugs that we will fix soon.
I hope it does not upset you too much. Thank you for your feedback :)

It does and has. I already rage uninstalled it. This "recent" idea that towers can be damaged/destroyed/disabled in TD games is simply absurd. I hate it and the wicked developers who think it's a good mechanic. The levels are not manually optimized - this I guarantee. Yes, I override you as game maker if you say otherwise. The levels are not specifically and carefully designed to send out "manageable" enemies. It's one of those "it's hard because of bad design" games. I thought it would be a keeper, but was, once again, hoodwinked. There has not been a decent, traditional, TD game on Steam for years - years. (Don't worry, I don't do refunds.) As for the achievement issue, I'm already burned. That you can not fix/take back. I'm marked as a cheater in a way.

i don't think the game is generally bad but i also don't like the destruction of towers. For me tower defense games itself are strategy games, i play since many years TD games and its my favorite genre but i am not a fan of the subversions with much micromanagement or extrem action. The game has both, you need to make fast actions because of an high difficulty which is not manageable without triggerable skills and also the much deactivated or destroyed towers to reactivate or rebuilt. I like the graphics and i like the game itself but for me i was annoyed and quit playing after mission 9 because at he beginning the game begun very funny and cool but i got more and more needed micromanagement and action. i began to play after this the submissions but they are more easily then the main mission, very short and for me they look very uninspired. after this and the much micromanagement i quit because i didn't liked mission 7,8,9 and had no fun to play further. The game began good but the idea of destructable towers ( also because you cannot do anything against it) and the needed micromanagemt killed for me the complete game.

All over bad ideas:
the destruction of tower, the "balancing" of the game to need the triggerable skills to beat the levels even in easy.

things which need a big rework:
- challenge mode levels and the night mode, because they look very uninspired and they are much easier then the main missions which is very useless because you need to beat the main mission before you have access to it.

Yes, we (you and I, TD kings - yes, kings) know all this. This game is like a mobile designed one. Even though it's not, as sold on Steam, it has all the nasty vile ingredients of one. Things that are designed to frustrate and deliberately create an unfun experience, so that suckers and idiots would pay real money to get past such deliberate obstacles. I wanted to like it, but it 's just got too many bad design choices, deliberate ones. No dice. Could it be saved? Yeah, if the devs were to literally "redo" about half of it.

I agree with everything you have written in this thread. I hate TD games where the towers are damaged.

Have a look at Technotron Defense. It's a traditional TD and it also has the virtue of being really cheap.
