Tommy Gun Not Shooting and Just Lighting Up Chapter 3 (Glitch)

My friend and I are playing Chapter Three and worked hard to get the Blazing Metal and the killing Norman Polk achievement, but when we finally got up to getting the tommy gun (we didn't die and did everything you need to do to get it), but when we tried to use it on the Projectionist the gun didn't work. We died and tried again around three times, and when we tried to shoot the wall it would only light it up (making light like something coming out of a flashlight). We then proceeded to try and shoot other things with it, but nothing is working. We worked really hard to get up to this point and are now really frustrated. Has anyone experienced this before? If so, what can help?

Is your quality setting on very low? I’ve had this problem playing on very low, but when I turned the graphics to low, the tommy gun would damage the projectionist. Hope this helps.

My first recomendation would be to verify the integrity of the game files. Just to make sure something isn't corrupted. If the problem still presists, then you might want to reinstall.

I'm on switch and it's doing the same for me. It's just lighting up and not doing any damage what do I do
