Why Bendy and The Ink Machine is a Horror Game.
I mean come on... The premise is a cartoon demon version of Mickey Mouse trying to go all a.k.a. Cartoon on a world that forgot it sort of like how Oswald Rabbit reacted when he was dropped for a smaller rat in Epic Mickey...
Anyways, anybody need some explaining for horror in this game, than come at me. We won't be seeing a Yahtzee Zero Punctuation of this game for until the game is fully released and I just know that he's going to complain as well about how the DLCs cost $6 a piece, so you'll have to either wait for the opinion of a man so painstakingly into Horror games that he's basically the next door neighbor to Pyramid Head or just deal with my excuses which granted will probably do the game very little justice.

I am sorry, but when it comes to artistic vision... Well let's just say that I am on the train of 'let the creator make their dream with the only restriction being the time limit for creation'.

To put it another way (sorta); I feel that if you give an artist a boundry, than that will hamper their creative freedom. I will admit that some control needs to be held by the one who hired the artist, but you and I are in neither camp so it's up to theMeatly to make their game as they desire, and their game is horrific in both the literal and awestriking ways.

lol. dude can make a painting with red paint, its his painting. Doesnt mean critics cant say that maybe he should have used blue.

And I can respect that. As I said in the other conversation but let's leave the rest of this conversation there before you leave another comment here, being critical of something is basically the family standard.
I will end this arguement (if we can even call it that) with saying that I respect that you think the game could have gone a totally different way than it has, but unless you either have the desire to make your own game in the style of this game but with more of a narative focus than a horror one, enough pull to make theMeatly rebuild the game where you hear Joey's voice echoing through the halls making sarcastic quips because his cartoon man doesn't get that he's a rat in a cage or you have a time machine that lets you go back and convince theMeatly that the game should totally be a narative game, than you can't change what has happened.
Enjoy the game for all the bone chilling excitement that would give even the Pyro cold feet...

Note to self; eventually make a review for this game based on Yahtzee's critic style...

Well, the creators said to themselves that it is a horror game.

I know. It's just that I was feeling kind of defensive about the game, y'know?

I see ya.
As someone who played horror games all my life I do not play them to get scared . RE 2 for example is not scary , it just has good gameplay and atmosphere .

Bendy focuses on spooky atmohspere,jump-scares and psychological effects which makes it a horror themed game . Although one could argue that game could do those better it is still a horror game .

The main issue that ruins the tension is the fact that you not actually getting chased and killed. If bendy was more like Nemesis walking around randomly that would be a different game .

People have different kind of backgrounds with games and some do not like high intensity . Bendy is a nice entry-level horror game that is not too hard or too scary .

I guess that's fair... I personally only really know horror by way of Alien: Isolation, and that's more because I can never bring myself to run from the big lizard thing with a head the shape of a peanut and the coloration of a beached whale.

To translate; I'm not a heavy 'horror fan'. I do know about pacing, but really knowing how to effectively create tension is something left to the people who know the genre like the back of their hand after it had the pinky bitten off by something blobby and vaugely smelling like cheese essenced with old salami... I seriously need to stop watching so many Zero Punctuation reviews...

I find it refreshing, unlike most which relies on purposely dark area's and scary designs, look at Happy Tree Friends, looks innocent as ♥♥♥♥ designs and style but soooo not for kids, least kids who parents care what they watch

It's like parents who let their kids watch a.k.a. Cartoon animations just because they made Ed, Edd n' Eddy.
