Save Points?

I'm trying to save the game to make achievement hunting easier. I read that the punch in machines were manual save points but when I use one in any chapter, quit to menu and click continue it takes me to the beginning of chapter 1. If I go to chapter select it takes me to the beginning of that chapter.

All the guides I have looked at say its possible to manual save.
Can anyone let me know how I do it?

The punch clocks are the manual saves, but there's a nasty bug in the game where the game stops saving after a little while and any saves since then are ignored/don't count.

If the Bendy save head in the corner doesn't disappear it means the glitch happened and you need to quit the game to fix it.

I just checked on a punch clock, I don't get a Bendy head appearing at all

I figured out what I was doing wrong so I'll explain for anyone who finds this and wants to know. Save games only work on NEW GAMES instead of chapter select.

Ahh... that explains it, yeah you can't save mid chapter if you use chapter select since each chapter is short enough on it's own that you should be able to beat it in one sitting and thus not need to save.

Although i'm kinda wondering how you missed this since the chapter select screen outright says this (unless it's been changed): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1572074440

When I saw the 'progress will not be saved' I assumed it meant something like it wouldn't count my progress from when I played before
Usually you only see that kind of message when quitting out of a game before saving so I was just a little confused that's all. Also all the guides I saw saying to manually save didn't specify you couldn't just go in through chapter select.
