Missing Executable on Install? Help??
Apologies for formatting, I'm kinda just typing and editing as I go.

Okay, so here's some backstory... I don't really remember buying the game for myself (I think that I tried to install it back when I had Windows a few months back, but didn't have the space), so I was surprised to see it in my library. I also use an External Hard Drive to install and run most of my Steam Games, with the exception of Mad Father. As for my current OS, I have Linux Ubuntu 18.04. Another thing to note is that I sometimes have to use a separate Steam Client with Wine in order to run some of my games if they aren't available on Linux.

Figuring that I could just install it now that I have Linux (and I have checked to see that it *is* indeed compatible with my system), I did so but the install screen was... weird. Like... You know how when you have to confirm an install, it tells you how much space you need versus how much you have? (Like... say a game needs "906 MB" to install, and you have like... "10,000 MB" on your system). That wasn't up when I tried to download the game, it just said to pick the download folder. So I did and the install seemed normal enough, however when I tried to play the game, it gave me an error message saying something about a "missing executable", so I uninstalled the game and tried to reinstall only to see the same thing.

Before anyone asks; No, uninstalling and reinstalling the game didn't work. I also verified the integrity of the files via the Steam Client (to no avail), and as for how many MB the game supposedly uses, it says "none". I'm honestly at a loss for what to do here. If any of you guys have ANY ideas, please tell me.

Edit: Changed the number of MB to "none", because I tried to install again and look deeper into it and that's what showed up.

Edit 2: If anyone recommends putting the game in a beta mode, I can't do that because there's no option for it outside of "entering a code", which I don't know how to do.

I've had the game for a long time, and for some reason one day, the game was not working when I tried to get on. So I deleted it and reinstalled it, but same message popped up. I've gone into the Bendy and The Ink Machine files and nothing was there. I don't know how the files got lost. I need help too. I've also tried all of the techniques. Help please.

Someone in another post uploaded their game files for others. I downloaded them, since I had the same issue, and it worked. Just put it in the common folder of your steam library after unzipping.

Hopefully it helps you as well.

Well, I really hate to be a Debby Downer, but the files here are exclusively for the Windows/Microsoft OS. I need the files to run the game on Ubuntu (Linux).

Oh? Do you think you'd be able to elaborate on this?

I have tested the files fr the google drive provided by Average Shpee but no luck. It looked good but after the splash screen it quits. Thank you so much for helping as I am sure we will get to the bottom of this faster than the unhelpful DEVs

I downloaded it and put the .exe in the Bendy and the Ink Machine folder in Common in Steamapps in Steam but it still didn't work. The error message didn't pop up but when I clicked play it changed to Stop and then "Play" again
