Batim Ink discussion (Spoilers for Chapter 5)

Now I think it's fair to say we had a feeling the ink was alive, it's own entity, and possibly would move around like Vemon from the Spiderman series. Just formless and slugging around across the ground. Even will Alice/Allison saying that you can't touch it for too long, and that it'll claim you, well especially for an ink creature that is. Cause they refused to wade across. I totally understand they wanted to keep their sanity and not get corrupted by the ink.

But I'm kind of disappointed that it was built up to be its own entity, possibly possessing the toons to misbehave and become violent towards the workers. Then as I went through again, I never once noticed the ink trying to advance on me, unless it was an ink creature. I'm sure some will argue that the Lost Ones and Searchers are made from the corrupted ink itself. But I don't think that, I mean, they were made from people into ink creatures. The tape in Grant's office near the archives suggests that the ink forces it's way into a living creature by shoving itself into the creature's mouth, cause the tape contained watery choking noises.

I don't understand if it is an entity of it's own, why hasn't it gone for Henry? Henry seems to be human through out most of the game, yet it never once seems to advance on him and force him to join in becoming an ink creature. Is it just the ink wasn't programmed to be a threat itself, yet implied to be threatening? Or did theMeatly not want the ink to be the enemy yet implied for it to be the enemy? Or is the ink not aware of the loop it is in, so it never can make a move to claim Henry and turn him into an ink creature?

I'm sorry, but I believed theMeatly could have done more with the ink, making it an entity of it's own and would try to get Henry, cause that'd be scary, to allows have to watch your back when there's ink around in case it would jump out and try to claim you!

More off topic, maybe the ink is a metaphor or something cause Joey and Henry both used ink especially back in the studio. And who knows, the ink in the ink wells that the artists used for the show maybe was reused from the ink machine. That the ink doesn't have it's own form cause it can't made its own, so it took Imperfect Bendy, Susie/Alice, and the numerous clones of deformed Butcher Gang members and made them crazy.

maybe because henry was the official animator, the ink didnt saw him as a treat?...maybe?... cause henry's offering object was the inkwell, idk...

If the ink is evil as it's made out to be, I don't think it would respect Henry. XD But who knows, maybe it does know some level of respect.

Saying the ink can claim creatures is to scare the player. But we'd already walked through it a lot of times previously, so it doesn't claim humans aparrently.

The subscribe thing I think you're taking about is if you subscribe to a discussion, you get notified whenever someone comments on it.

That's kind of what I'm saying. That the ink is talked about like it's a living entity, yet it never claims Henry. But I think the reason it doesn't claim him ever, is for story purposes so we can live out the story through Henry's place. So it can't claim him cause he's a story tool, cause without Henry, we couldn't play out Batim. I'm just sad they played it up that it's a threat when it's so harmless towards Henry.

so umm...i just found on tumblr that halfusek posted this:
''local artist pushed himself to hard, found dead at desk''...(this journal article can be found in the end of ch 5...in joey's house i think)...so, does this mean that henry is dead...and instead of a loop, he's in some kind of a limbo...thats dark man...

Well good that Joey's gone! But if Henry is looping cause he feels guilt he shouldn't! He did what he could for the company, Joey went too far, Henry wanted a family, started one, and probably was happy. I don't see why Henry would loop himself. :C His poor daughter! Why would Henry's daughter ask "Uncle Joey" for another story at the end?!

Unless Joey is a ghost, and she can see him cause she's so young. Henry is looping from guilt? But it was stated in the game reliving the past won't change it so I'm sure the man would have broken his loop if he knew that which he does if the invisible messages are from Henry!
