chapter 5 locked in room

I am stuck in chapter 5 after saving the doors will not open and im stuck in the room can anyone help or do i need to restart the game from the beginning as dont have another save available.

If you can't continue the chapter you have to select the chapter again in the main menu, if you can't you have to reset the full story. Or you can download another save (if you want to download a save search in reddit, you will find something I think).

Same happened to me...I really don't want to start the chapter over but at the same time I want to be the one to complete the game. I don't want to cheat by getting someone elses save.

Saves aren't cheating. Not when the game is buggy like it is. As of now, you're forced to start from a save or restart the entire game. Plus saves allow you to quickly jump to certain parts you like to experience.

If I download a completed chapter 5 save and get the achievements for beating the game when I haven't thats cheating...Not to mention they might have done stuff that I haven't yet like all the bacon soup cans for the chapers or If they found all the voice recordings that I haven't. Restarting the chapter I will reluctantly do but if I can't do that I'm not playing the whole game just to get back to where I was. (Not for a few months at least and by then hopefully theres a patch for this bug.)

Understandable. But there are plenty of saves being shared, with and without achievements and such. Just saying. Me personally, I still need 4 more, but I use saves to get around these bugs.

I genuinely f*cking hate this game at this point due to game breaking bugs that force players to restart their game and buggy achievements that wont unlock randomly. Like Even buggy bethesda games are more functional that this.

I've had to play chapter 1 and 2 over 4 times now because of buggy saves, no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way i'm restarting again
