I get black screen when I open the options

It doesn´t matter where, in the menu or in game, when I click "options" it appears a black screen with particles floating and the music sounds meanwhile. I don´t know if anyone can solve me this please...

SERIOUSLY?!?!? Nobody has found a way to fix this black options menu screen?!? NOBODY?!?!?!?

I have the same problem too. It just happened one day, I opened up Bendy and the Ink Machine, clicked Options, and there was just nothing there but a black screen, floating particles, and the music.

Seriously, TheMeatly/Kindly Beasts better patch this game soon, 'cause if not, I'm uninstalling Bendy and the Ink Machine, and removing it from my account.

Ok, I may have just found a solution for it.

1. Plug your computer, or laptop into your TV with an HDMI cable

2. Make your screen only viewble on the TV.

3. launch Bendy and the Ink Machine.

4. The options menu might show up. If not, then this solution is not for you.

5. If it does show up, Exit out of Bendy and the Ink Machine

6. Unplug the HDMI from your computer or laptop, and your problem might be fixed.

How about instead of telling people to jump through tedious hoops to MAYBE fix something, how about we tell the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ developers to get off their ass and fix this busted ♥♥♥♥

Well it worked. but i have to have JUST my TV plugged in. i tried to do it again with both plugged in and it didnt work...

Well. I kept BATIM open while plugging my monitor in and it worked! But i cant close it cuz then it will do the same thing

Fix for the Options Screen is below:

Run regedit and go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Joey Drew Studios

You could delete the 'Bendy and the Ink Machine' folder (I just renamed with -Old added on).

Re-run Bendy and the Ink Machine and all settings should be at the initial defaults.

I have had this problem, this is very frustrating, people tell you to unplug HDMI and stuff, there may be another way. Step 1: uninstall from place bought if possible. Step 2: reinstall
Step 3: try settings.

I never had this issue personally, and a lot of players don't seem to have it either, so it's possible that it's a problem caused on the player's end, not on the game's.

As for why they're not fixing bugs anymore: they're working on the "sequel" (not sure how to call it) and are currently a small team (as far as I know, at least).

Though, I agree they should have at least tried to fix all the bugs first before moving on to their next project. Some can really ruin the game to the point of forcing the players to restart it from the beginning.

For some reason, it seems like the Options screen is running at a different resolution than the game itself. For me it happened when I went between multiple computers and Steam Link, all at different resolutions. This is what I did to fix it:

1. Quit the game...
2. Run RegEdit.exe
3. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Joey Drew Studios\Bendy and the Ink Machine\
4. If you're concerned, make a back up by right-clicking the Bendy and the Ink Machine key, selecting Export, and saving this key to a .reg file. If something goes wrong, you can double-click the file you saved and restore these key values.
5. Delete these three key values:
- RESOLUTION_CURRENT_h224788829
- RESOLUTION_HEIGHT_h1134085259
- RESOLUTION_WIDTH_h525689618
6. Run the game, and select Options... the game bailed here.
7. Run the game again, and select Options... can finally get into Options again.

Not sure if the numbers after the _h in the key values are unique, but on my computer and my son's computer they are the same.

When you plug it into a different screen change ur resolution (if u have access to options) to the resolution of the main device.

I was literally about to post a thread about this but then saw your post lmao, I'm having the exact same issue. I recently upgraded my GPU to a 4070 and decided to give BATIM another try, since I wasn't getting a consistent framerate with my old GPU. Since re-installing, I have an issue where the game loads up fine. But whenever I go into the options menu to try and bump up my graphics settings, my screen goes black. The cursor disappears, if I'm in-game I can leave the pause menu but I have no visuals. All my drivers are up to date, I've uninstalling and then reinstalling but I can't find any fix online. Anyone know of a solution? I'd like to be able to play the game again, but if it's gonna be all Buggy And The Inoperable Machine I don't know what I'll do. I'll try the steps listed here and lyk if anything works for me, otherwise I'm totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
